1. Balkasar? [1]
I found this unusual record. Balkasar Bunker d. 21 Nov 1853 and is buried in St. Vincent's cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Now I wonder who he is? That was awfully early to be in St. Louis. He could have been a voyageur and one of the Canadians or one of the Verboncoeurs. Bette
2. Aussie WW II soldiers [1]
Brian gave me this really informative Australian site. It lists the military participants in WW II that came from Australia. It includes their service number, date of birth, place of birth and the service branch. http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/script/name.asp Really good information. Bette

5. Need web site address for LDS [1]
Can anyone give me an adress to search the LDS Genealogy records? How hard is it to get info from this group. BJ
6. Genealogical Queries [1]
Some of the more recent messages sent to the Bunker-L mailing list pose questions about relatives without identifying the possible connections to anyone with a Bunker name. I realize that people doing genealogy often belong to many lists, but if the person posting will identify the possible connection with the Bunkers, it might help people in responding. Otherwise, queries about individuals with other surnames are likely to go unanswered. Douglas G. Detling (D15-II) - Bunker Family Association web sit
7. RE: Birth and Death Records [1]
I believe that Kentucky has just put theirs up with the images but I don't know of any others. I love it that in a state with one of the highest incidences of identity theft that we do this. Obviously, our legislature and governor, who is an ex-attorney general and knows about the identity theft problems, are well aware of the fact that there is no known case of identity theft from stealing birth and death records or any other genealogical records. Identity theft comes from people stealing your credit ca
8. Tucson clothes [1]
If you are packing for the trip to Tucson, pack both warm and cool clothes. The day time temps will be in the 70s and 80s. The night time temps will be from the 40s to 60s. Tombstone and Nogales are both 1,000 feet higher than Tucson which means they are 5-10 degrees cooler. In addition, they tend to be windy and a cold wind on a warm day can be pretty chilly. If we don't need sweaters or jackets, the bus driver will be staying with the bus so it will be ok. Karchner Cave is always 68 degrees and VERY
9. Arizona records online [1]
Arizona has put birth and death records from about 1887 to 1958 online. Even if you do not think any of your people were in AZ, remember that it has always been a place to travel and many travelers die here. You might be surprised at what you find. Great site. http://genealogy.az.gov/ Bette

12. interesting email [1]
While waiting around for the laptop to get updated I decided to check my spam blocker to see if I had received any legitimate messages that I wanted to read. There were none that I had not already authorized. However, there were 34 messages offering me things to increase the size or effectiveness of my "ahem" "male member". Since I do not have one regardless of all the numerous names they can think of to describe it, they are certainly a waste of cyberspace aren't they? In addition, I received 3 more ad
13. BFA President Still Unreachable [1]
An update for BFA and other Bunker-L list members. Gil Bunker, who's computer crashed 3 1/2 weeks ago, is still unable to receive e-mail, though progress is being made on restoring his computer capability. He notes longingly that this has been the "longest" 3 1/2 weeks of his life. We'll keep you posted on his progress. Hopefully he'll be back up before leaving for the reunion in Tucscon in March. In the meantime, feel free to contact Bette Bunker Richards with your genealogical questions. ***********

This is my old site that I cannot edit until I can get my code together and I have not updated anything here in 4 years. I had my computer stolen and now I am back at it. The e-mail at the site is no good either. But I have more info at the site then on my current Family tree maker program. I also have info now that I didn't then. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/u/n/Betty-jo-Bunker-willette/inde x.html . 15. alumni records & soldiers [1]
This is sort of a cool site. You can search by surname, using the name itself, begins with or soundex, add given name, date and state/county. It contains over 200,000 names and over 50,000 surnames so it might be a good source if you are having problems. http://userdb.rootsweb.com/alumni/ This one has military rosters. http://userdb.rootsweb.com/military/ Both came in this week's Rootsweb Review which you can subscribe to at RWR-on@rootsweb.com Bette

If you are looking for French refugees to England in the 1700s this is a good site. http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~frpayments/Index.htm This came from the Feb 18 issue of Rootsweb Review which you can subscribe to by sending an email with no message addressed to RWR-on@rootsweb.com This issue is particularly good as it gives ideas on searching Rootsweb for many foreign sources and other hints to doing more in depth searching on Rootsweb. 22. passport [1]
In the continuing saga of stupid government requirements for a passport I received a telephone call today from some idiot in the state department that wants a copy of my husband's death certificate that shows his last name was Richards. Since my driver's license was issued in 2000 it does not show that I have used the name Richards for at least 5 years! My driver's license is issued in the name Bette Bunker Richards. I told this idiot that my license to practice law was in the name of Bette Bunker Richar

24. gil [1]
Hi everybody. Gil Bunker's computer crashed a week ago and they have not yet been able to get it fixed. The BFA president is currently off line and will notify the list when he can get back on. In the interim if anyone needs anything that they think I might be able to help with let me know. Also, he may or may not get the messages he has been sent during the last week. If you sent him a message and never get a response, try again when he gets back on line. Bette
