To my knowledge, no Bunkers descended from Chang and Eng Bunker ended up in
Nevada, Vernon Co., MO.
The Bunkers there were "my" family--William Oliver, Ira Sweet, and George
Hall Bunker, brothers, who arrived in Nevada after the Civil War. There was
another family of Bunkers already in Nevada at the time, but they were from Maine,
I believe.
William Oliver Bunker was my ggrandfather; his son William Rowland was my
grandfather; and my late father Wesley Roy Bunker was born in Nevada in 1910.

When writing your family history, it is often necessary to use diacritical
marks or symbols. While you can use the menu commands Insert>Symbol> in
Microsoft. Word to put these special characters into your text, there are
easier ways of inserting many characters using ASCII codes for those who

I met a David Bunker a few years ago--online, that is. He lives in NYC and works in his family's diamond business. They came to the U.S. from Israel and had been in India before then. --Suzanne

All those messages about the Bunker list were beginning to make me dizzy, so I decided to download a NY Times crossword puzzle.
It has been fixed on the web site. Thanks for letting me know.

I agree with this, I think all messages should be shown ,some may have an
importance to more than the one it is being addressed to.
Note the cc above so both the list and the sender are addressed.

Our three English/American (James, George and George) branches eventually
had members in the Society of Friends - Quakers. Here is a very good
history of early Quaker religion. http://thorn.pair.com/earlyq.htm
The earliest record I can find of any Bunker being a Quaker is Mary Bunker,
daughter of William Bunker (N-2) and Mary Macy. Mary seems to be the first
of the Nantucket Bunkers to be a member of the church. She joined in 1705.
She married Tristram Coffin in 1714 and the Coffins were also early Quak
For those of you who have ancestors in Michigan or Canada this is a good
