I'm searching for information on my 3rd great grandmother, Mary Ann Burroughs(or Burris) born 1 Mar 1824 possibly in North Carolina. Census records all give different places of birth but more of them say NC than others. Other census records say SC and Georgia. She married John C. Burch (b 1812) and they lived in Randolph Co. Does anyone know anything about this man's parentage or what happened to him? John S. Burroughs, born about 1813 in PA, NY, or NJ (depending on which record you believe. I tend to think it is PA). He married 1838 in Mason County, KY to Elizabeth Real Cornelius(who was born in Indiana). They lived in Clermont County, Ohio and had children Alonzo, Harriet, Mary, Charles, Emily Jane and Walter. My gggg grandfather Ephraim Burroughs, b. 1773 Hunterdon Co., NJ - died 1838, Dearborn Co. Indiana had a son, Jesse who was born 4-17-1803 in Fleming Co., KY - married Mary (Polly) C. Wilson 5-8-1823 in Dearborn Co. IN and died 3-5-1880 in Vermillion Co. ILL. I am looking for info on the brothers of Captain Ephraim Burroughs - b. April, 1740, son of Stephen and Ruth Nichols. Supposedly, one of Ephraim's brothers is an ancestor of mine. I cannot find if one of them moved to NJ before 1773.
