I recently posted a web page on the early Butlers of Jackson County,
Tennessee at:
http://www.aros.net/~cbutler/index.htm
Please provide me with any corrections or additional information you may
have on these lines.
I have no idea where the Butlers are from originally, just that I find them
with my family in the 1700s, specifically 1715, in Richmond County and
Westmoreland County -- Virginia. I know Caleb has a home in Westmoreland as my
7th G-GF died there. I am assuming that Richard, James, Rebecca and Peter
(Richard & James parents) live in Richmond County or nearby. James Butler died
in 1716, a year after he took two of the orphans and then Richard took them
along with the four he already had and raised them. Rich

I am interesting in finding the book The Butler Family by Caleb Butler publ
1848 and/or one published by the Butler Family Association in 1886. Does
anyone know where I might find these books? They are not listed that I can
find on LDS microfiche. I believe my Butler ancestors were from Pelham NH.
