1. Re: [Bygones] Windows XP [1]
I don't anticipate Bygones having any problems with Windows XP; however I haven't tested it under XP yet. 2. [Bygones] Upgrading from Bygones .9b. [1]
Sharon asked: >I have Bygones 9b; can I upgrade to 9d without first upgrading to 9c? Yes, you can upgrade directly from Bygones .9b to Bygones .9d. I just added the instructions to do so to the http://home.utah-inter.net/bygones/upgrade.htm web page. (At the bottom of section C, Steps to Upgrade.) Troy
3. [Bygones] Note to Macintosh Bygones Users [1]
This note is primarily for any Macintosh Users who use Bygones on an old "68k" Macintosh, rather than a Power or iMac Macintosh. (By "68k" Macintosh, I mean an old Macintosh that uses a 68040 or earlier processor chip.) Within the next few weeks, I should be posting the updated/9d version of Bygones. The FileMaker Pro Runtime program in 9d will be updated to FMP Runtime 5.5, from the FMP Runtime 4.0 program that Bygones 9c uses. For Windows users, the hardware and operating system requirements of

5. [Bygones] Replace Command; Spelling Dictionaries [1]
Hi Kathy, Glad to hear you like .9d; thanks. Regarding your name and address on Research Extracts: First of all note that if you import data with the import button on the "Update Old Data" layout of the Research DB, the script that button activates is supposed to do a "Replace" command for you that will place the name of the Researcher in all your imported Research records. But if you import records via the File Menu's Import Records command; or don't enter the Researcher's name when asked during th
6. [Bygones] Re: Replace Command; Spelling Dictionaries [1]
Troy Thank you for responding to my questions about the User Dictionary and getting my user info in my research extracts. Both instructions were easy to understand and worked just as you said they would. Thank you again for all your help! 7. [Bygones] Re: Macintosh Bygones .9d [1]
Hi Troy I downloaded the newest version of Bygones for Mac today and congratulations and thank you to you (AGAIN) for such a fine tool that we can all use to enhance our research. I do have a couple of questions, though ..... I made an entry for myself in the Users DB, but on each of my extracts, that area is blank. Do I need to go into each extract form and insert the Current User Name or is there an easier way to do this? Also, I love the spell checker function. Is it possible to have a User dictionar

9. [Bygones] Windows XP [1]
Troy, I'm thinking about upgrading to Windows XP, maybe in November/December. The web site said Bygones ran on NT, which I take as hopeful. Any idea if it will run on XP and/or do you anticipate testing it on XT? Just trying to decide how much software I might 'lose' if I go to XP. Thanks, Jackie Baker
