My GGGreat Uncle "Ebin" left Maine in the early 1850's, with his brother George W. Rowell, to prospect for gold. He is shown in 1860 census in Cosumnes, El Dorado County. He died on October 5, 1863. Can anyone assist me in directing me to death records or obituaries? I am interested in cause of death and in knowing if he is interred in California. George left Amador County returned to Maine. Do you have any idea WHERE he died? I can check the papers in El Dorado (if there are any for that time period) or the Sacramento Bee which did have deaths for areas around Sacramento. I can also check the El Dorado Cemetery books at the CA Room.
