Hello maillist members,
I would like an obit lookup on the following individual if
possible:
Mildred E. Loraine, age 18, died in Alameda County, CA on 4
Jun 1933.
Sorry, I do not have the city, but believe it may have been
Oakland.

Hi,
I would also like to know about Kaiser Hospital. My Grandmother became a
nurse there, and I was also born there in 1940.
I was wondering if they would have an archive about their nursing school.

You were kind enough to say that I could put this up on the Alameda County
GenWeb page and I filed it off to do so.
Now, as I read it over I realize I need the name of the paper and the date.
You probably had that info on another post, but unfortunately I had a
Eudora crash and lost a lot of posts in my Alameda mail box. (there will be
LOTS of unhappy inquirers to be sure).

My guess would be the Berkeley Gazette. You might also try the Oakland
papers (Tribune or Post or ??)
There is a list of Alameda county newspapers on the Alameda County GenWeb
site that you might find useful.

Hi All,
Just wanted to share with all of you the treasure I found in the main library
(Doe) at the University of California at Berkeley. It had cabinets full of
microfilm of all the main newspapers in all the counties of California, all
the San Francisco newspapers, foreign newspapers printed in Calif. and
foreign newspapers printed in different countries and main newspapers of all
of the states. Nearly every microfilm I chose I found something I needed.
The personnel were very helpful, the periodi
Hi, List
I have traced my family from 1850 to 1953 in Oakland and
I am stumped. The obit for Alicia Schliep (died June 29, 1953) says her
funeral Mass was at the Chapel of Our Lady's Home on 1900 34th Ave. in
Oakland and arrangements were through East Lawn Chapel Services and
interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery. Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma has
no such record. Is the funeral director still in Oakland? has it been
taken over by someone else? What is Our Lady's Home? Is it still there?
Any

I think they do, but you might call their neighbor an "Pill Hill"

Kaiser. Merritt has combined their alumni and Providence School of Nursing

It's been brought to my attention that not all counties are represented on
the list of counties that have Gen Connect Boards available. My message
should have stated:
ALL GEN CONNECT COUNTIES THAT PREVIOUSLY HAD A GEN CONNECT QUERY BOARD now
have a suite of boards available to post Bible, Biographies, Deeds, Obits,
Pensions and Wills

I tend to see lots of queries for San Francisco on this list and i'm
wondering if San Francisco was or is in the county of Alameda??? And if it
isn't, what is the connection to Alameda?

Hello List
I'm new to this list and am searching for any living relatives of Irene
Golding HALL. Her parents were Josiah James HALL & Sarah Golding. I know
that they were living in Oakland in August of 1931 as they attended the
funeral of Irene's sister Nellie. Is there someone out there that know's
about this family.
TIA

Yes it does. But if it's listed in CADI with an Alameda county location
then it should be available in Alameda county and they should be able to
find it without a number if the person wants to order it from the county.
If the county can't locate it then the person knows that the state can.
I do most of my lookups for NORCAL which is not county specific. I really
don't want to keep track of county vs state numbers.
I appreciate the suggestion but I think that Alameda specific requests
should probably go
I was born in Kaiser Hospital in Oakland, not the tall one I believe is
visable from Lake Merritt, but in 1946, the hospital that was located on
the corner of MacArthur Blvd & Broadway in Oakland. The last time I was
in the Bay Area, I don't recall it still being there, infact it probably
ceased to be a Kaiser Hospital years ago, in light of the fact Kaiser
has that more modern building that is seen from Lake Merritt.
Does anyone know if Kaiser still has the hospital on MacArthur &
Broadway or if not, whe

I am looking for information on the children of Mark and Julia
DUTIEL.
Mark DUTIEL died in Alameda county on 27 may 1973, and Julia on 9
July 1960. Mark remarried Anna M. Lee on 20 Nov 1960 in Alameda
county. It is believed that the children of Mark an Julia were born
in Alameda county. They were RIchard, Audry, and Edward.
Any help in determining the birth dates of these three children
would be greatly appreciated.
