I know my JACOB MYERS (Moyers) arrived in CA in Oct. 1849 and spent the first winter west of the junction of North and South Forks of the Cosumnes River, on the Amador/El Dorado County line.

My great-aunt Alice (pronounced uh-lease) Plasse sold a house on North Main Street in Jackson for $400 to Guiseppi and Teresa Dal Porto who razed the building and constructed the California Hotel on the premises. The hotel was destroyed by fire in 1927.
