Hi all, I am trying to find my great Aunt Ludie Poole, where she is buried. She lived in Oroville, her husband's name was Jack, although I never met him, I did meet her in the 1980's. I think Ludie died in October 1994. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Patty Riley Yucca Valley, CA

For the out-of-town visitor, the Paradise Geneological Society is fabulous but so too is the Oroville Library, which is Butte County's library. They have copies on microfilm of newspapers that are extremely helpful, and a volume of excerpts about families in town from very early newspapers. The staff there are helpful. Volunteer Jim (O'?) Lague did some work for me and helped me locate resources to track down my family. Oroville also has the county's records office, which is easy to use. From a

Hello Darlene, I do not live in Butte County, but will also be doing research there (for the second time) in May. First, go to pargenso.com (I think) or google Paradise Genealogical Society, as it is the main one for Butte County. They have a library in Butte which is open only some days, but right now lists Monday as one of those days, from 10 to 4. The county office is in Oroville and contains land records plus other vital records. It is open M -F, regular business hours I think. I understand tha
