Hi all, I am trying to find my great Aunt Ludie Poole, where she is buried.
She lived in Oroville, her husband's name was Jack, although I never met
him, I did meet her in the 1980's. I think Ludie died in October 1994.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Greetings:
The UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento was established at the old Sacramento County Hospital property in the 1970s. When the County sold the University the property no provision was made for the County Hospital Cemetery. During construction for an expansion project, contractors found human remains in the project zone.
The body count has increased from 2 sets of remains to 28 sets of remains WITHIN THE PROJECT ZONE. The County Hospital Cemetery has been reported to have begun as 1 acre i

For the out-of-town visitor, the Paradise Geneological Society is
fabulous but so too is the Oroville Library, which is Butte County's
library. They have copies on microfilm of newspapers that are
extremely helpful, and a volume of excerpts about families in town from
very early newspapers. The staff there are helpful. Volunteer Jim
(O'?) Lague did some work for me and helped me locate resources to
track down my family. Oroville also has the county's records office,
which is easy to use.

Hello Darlene,
I do not live in Butte County, but will also be doing research there (for the
second time) in May.
First, go to pargenso.com (I think) or google Paradise Genealogical Society,
as it is the main one for Butte County. They have a library in Butte which is
open only some days, but right now lists Monday as one of those days, from 10
to 4.
The county office is in Oroville and contains land records plus other vital
records. It is open M -F, regular business hours I think.

We live in Florida and will be arriving by car on Sunday (April 18) to your fair County (my first visit) to research three lines of my family, they are:
Alva & Ann McDonald
Van & Frances Swearingen
Berteniece Wilfredricks Glines' father (first name unknown) Glines.
Could someone on the list please direct us to the local libraries/genealogy society contacts in order to locate information?
We will be staying for 3 days.
Thank you so much
