The Cahill's in New Foundland went from the south......they were among the LOYALISTS during the American Revolution, there was a second wave of them during the Civil War who went and joined distant aunts and uncles. ALmost all the NewFoundlanders began there on ships from I believe Georgia or one of the Carolinas. In the Family Tree Maker programs there is a disc of emmigrants which lists them and lists the land grants given them by the Government of England. Hope this helps somewhat. claudia
