China Flat was near Willow Creek. There is a museum in Willow Creek called the China Creek Museum. Manila is a little town which still exists across the bay from Eureka on the Samoa Peninsula. I have never heard of Acorn and there are several places in the county referred to as Redwood Creek.

Acorn was near Blue Lake. In searching through old newspapers I have run across names of places in Humboldt County that I have no idea where they were located names such as Acorn, China Flat, Redwood, Manila, and a couple of others. Can anyone on the list explain where these places were located???

I don't know what happened to my answer to you. Did you get it? I checked the library today for an obit for you. I just realized that I must have transcribed his date of death wrong. I checked in the paper for a death around Feb. 9, which I had then also around May 18 which is the date I got somewhere else online.
