I am looking for descendants of Wm. & Margaret Jamison Kane from Ballycastle, Co. Antrim, No. Ireland. Came to the U. S. in 1865 with 4 of their 7 children. 3 more children born in Illinois then the family of 7 children and parents moved to Montgomery Co., Iowa. The oldest child, Alex, had 5 children: Claud, Maude, Paul, Glenn, Boyd. This is the link I am looking for. Does this match your family?

4. Re: Demier [1]
Dear Glenda, Another clue I just thought about was the spelling of the Demier name. Hazel used De Mier in Texas death records and Clarence used De Mier in Social Security. In the 1920 census he was listed as Demier with his father. You can get information from SS for $7.00 which usually gives the parents, etc. Only problem it takes a long time to get it. I would guess that James remarried and Minnie may be buried in Santa Fe. Diane
5. Re: Demier [1]
Clarence was born feb 10, 1903 in New Mexico and died Jun 1962, don't know where. the fact that your Hazel had ties to Santa Fe suggests that maybe James remarried in 1934 or there about to Hazel. Marriage records of NM would help. Diane
6. John Wesley Cain [1]

7. Re: Demier [1]
Hi Linda, Haven't sent for birth certificate for Carrie yet. I've been researching other lines of the family as well as this, and am afraid this line got "put on the back burner" so to speak. You're not going to believe this but once upon a time, long before I got interested in genealogy, I had a copy of Hazel Cain DeMier's marriage certificate. HOWEVER, I have MISPLACED it! I am practically tearing my hair out trying to think of where it could be! I moved about a year ago, and alot of things are still pa

I have a 1900 census with James living with his parents and wife Minnie (Herch her mothers name in 1920) they were in Las Cruz, NM in 1900 and in Santa Fe, NM in 1920. 1900 census states they were married that year. Diane Poole

13. Re: DeMier family name [1]
Dear Lane, I am a descendant of Sarah Demier, sister of John Richard. A few years ago I received information from a Ethel Lawson of Hatch, NM. She had corresponded with your Great Grandmother and spoke of her son and daughter. Which one are you related to. I have a copy of the painting of John Demier as well as pictures of the Demier stones in KP cemetery of Martha and her son Cyrus. I would be interested in exchanging information with you also. I have also exchanged information with Linda Sharp in t
14. Re: Demier [1]
Hello, this is very interesting information. We live in El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces is about 30 miles up the road on I-10. The son of John Richard DeMier named James (1874-?) may have been the husband of Hazel (Cain) DeMier. Information on this side of the family is VERY sketchy. Hazel DeMier had a daughter Carrie Ellen DeMier born on September 8, 1934 in Santa Fe, N.M. Carrie's family had moved to El Paso and she married Ralph W. McMasters in El Paso, Texas, around 1950. They had a son JAMES Randall M

I am searching for parents of Daniel Cain, b. 1768 in DE and married Elizabeth Hutchins in Rowan NC in 1789. They are buried in Bear Creek Church Cemetery, Davie Cnty, NC. 20. Re: Demier [1]
Hi DIANE, First let me apologize for addressing previous messages to Delbert! Clarence sounds so very familiar to me. As I told Linda, I once had a copy of a marriage certificate for Hazel, but haven't got a clue as to where is could be. I'm almost certain Clarence was the name. I knew Hazel, and I would say she was in her early 60's when she passed away in 1976. If Clarence was born in 1903, that would make him 31 years old when Carrie Ellen was born in 1934. If you have any more info, please let me know.
21. Re: Demier [1]
Glenda, On second thought, a better guess is that Hazel and Clarence were married in Santa Fe, not James and Hazel. Diane
22. Re: Demier [1]
Hi Delbert, Well, from the sound of it maybe my Hazel Cain DeMier wasn't married to your James. I do have a date of death for her...March 31, 1976 in El Paso. Texas. Will keep digging. Glenda
23. Re: Demier [1]
Diane, I think this sounds very plausible since Carrie Ellen was born in Santa Fe in 1934. Glenda
24. Re: cain family [1]
