Frank,
I am well aware of all the confustion between these two families :-).
What do you have as proof that the Patrick Cain married to Susannah Crawford
is our Patrick's son? We know that we are missing some children, but have
never been able to positively tie these two together.
Most of my information is on my homepage in the "Book" section - go to page
90 where Patrick's family starts.

Hi Marilyn!
My Patrick Cain supposedly came into the country through S. Carolina, but I have
not yet found any proof. I have from an older researcher Jenny Thomas Squier
that he "Arrived in U.S. in South Carolina (?) with brothers Mathew, Michael,
John and then moved on to Grayson Co. Kentucky before 1787." She thought he was
born in Ireland, abt. 1765.
He was in Kentucky by 1792:

I am interested in corresponding with anyone who may be related to Susan
Richardson, daughter of Archibald and Elizabeth Richardson, who married
(according to a bible record) James Micheal Cain SR.
Susan was the sister of my ancestor Elijah Richardson.
These families lived around the area of Fish Trap Settlement, 7th Dist
in Baker Co GA, which is presently Milford. All the records for Baker
CO in the time period they were there til just after the Civil War hav
ebeen lost.

I have two stories for my James Oscar CAIN Jr. (b1794 SC). One is that his
father came over from Wales on a cheese boat c1750. The other story is that is
his family had been here for several generations. I haven't found any proof of
James' parents, although the cheese boat version says they were James Oscar CAIN
Sr. and Anne WILSON.
Is anyone else researching this line?

Researching the surname
Greetings Listmembers: Am interested in finding ancestors of Henry B. CAIN and esp. 1w Catherine ? . Henry born Greene Co. KY ca 1817, moved to Ohio Co. KY (1850 & 1860 census) and then son, Wesley CAIN, was found in Spencer Co. IN by 1875 (1880 census). Have been told by family source that Henry's father was Matthew CAIN (who died in Nelson Co.KY), son of Patrick CAIN of Londonderry Ireland, but this source was unable to document info. Any help? Thanks. Jackie Smith
I am very interested in your Patrick CAIN. Although I do not have a Patrick in
my data base, the time frame and location is probably a tie to my James Oscar
CAIN Jr.(b1794 SC) who was m to Elizabeth McCauley CORLEY.

I have a copy of one page (#276) out of the book "The History of Orangeburg,

It lists the Representatives for the Fork district. Among them is PATRICK

Does anyone have any information on this Patrick Cain? I am trying to
determine if it is possibly our ancestor.

MARGARET E. CAIN

Both Edward & Margaret are buried in Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia.
At Margaret's death her residence was listed as 415N 40th St. Philadelphia.
If anyone has this couple in their research - please contact me.
I also need an 1850 Philadelphia look-up for the names of Edward & Margaret's
children.
I believe the Patrick Cain that was born in Derry Ireland and was in the
Revolutionary War was a brother to my GGG grandfather Michael Cain. Michael
was born in Derry Ireland, I don't know the year and came to South Carolina
and also fought in the Revolutionary war. His son was Joseph Cain, his son
was William Waits Cain, his son was hector Valentine Cain, his son was Vonnie
Lee Cain, my father.
If you can help me on this I would very much appreciate it. I also appreciate
getting your e-mails. Please
