Realizing that you were so interested in Frank Latta's works. His "
Handbook of Yokuts Indians " has just been reprinted. It represents the

At McKittrick, along the westside of the San Joaquin Valley of
California, there is a line of spectacular and richly fossiliferous tar
pits that have been exploited for thousands of years. These tar pits
rival the famous La Brea Tar Pits and have yielded an equally diverse
assemblage of Pleistocene plants and animals. In addition, the
McKittrick pits guided pioneer efforts, at the turn of the century, to
develop the giant Midway-Sunset field, the largest oil-producing field
in the lower 48 United States.

Hi All:
I have for some time assumed that everyone knew of the Riptide papers, which
have a number of Bio's on early settlers to California.
Appearently I was wrong, the Riptide had a special publication dated 19

request copies, they are at the University of CA Berkeley.
I will be putting names to list, if any person wants the short bio then just
ask.

We are seeking information on ancestors or descendents of Sterling Price
Green(e), who lived in Taft from 1921 to 1952, when he died. We believe he
was born in Parker Co., TX, in 1863, and lived in Oklahoma and Missouri before
moving to Taft. We have more information on him, but have lots of loose
ends. Also anything on Wesley Green, who lived in Bakersfield, who was
Sterling's nephew.
