Hi, Barrie I have the text of a talk given in 1907 at Spean Bridge by a Donald Cameron who was born at Dochanassie about 1840. It tells a little about the folk of Dochanassie, but only mentions his own ancestors - his father was Duncan and his gr grandfather was Duncan Mor. Duncan and his wife, Sarah Robertson were the only Camerons listed at Glenfintaig (Dochanassie) in 1841. Neil: I have very little information on my gr-gr-grandparents but will share what I have. John Cameron is said to have been born in Edinbourgh,Scotland, date unknown, married Jane Caldwell, birthdate unknown,. said to have been born in Edinbourgh, Scotland also. You might go to the Tarrant County or Jackson County Genweb site and check the civil war pention application records,You might find that his wife made application for a civil war pention. Hi all, I appreciated Donna Witt's Historical Notes on Duncan Cameron, Etc. Also of interest to me would be the Cameron's who came from North Carolina to Georgia. I am trying to find out the parents and siblings of a Murdock Cameron ,b.1800 in NC, who married a Flora ____?. They lived in Harris County in Ga in the mid 1800's. One of their children, Henry Cunningham Cameron, b. about 1847 in Whitesville, GA had a daughter who married Theo Bartow Matthews, of Talbot County, GA, in the early 1900's.
