Hello list, I have been tracking down other surnames in my family lately. I
have to be honest and say that they all seem MUCH easier to find than my
Cameron's. I have found other members in these families that are also
researches that have given me LOADS of information. I have also found family
members that I could return the favor and supply history to them. Many of
these families we have traced back into the early 1600's. Sorry for the
tutorial, I am now back to the HARD work. I still am loo
I recently received some information on a Donald Cameron that arrived in NY
in 1696 with his 17 children. This included 3 sets of twins.
Anyone out there in Cameron land have this family in your history? I'm
trying to connect it to my specific line of Camerons and I have doubts that
it is in fact one of mine.
Thankyou
Dena

Maybe someone could help me with this. I am still trying to find out info on
Levander Cameron. There is a Mary Cameron that is listed as head of
household in the 1810 Marion Co., SC census, Levander Cameron is listed on
the same census and I figured they must be related somehow. I have just
received this info: In the 1790 SC census index there is a Mary Cammeron
living in Georgetown Co., which I am told that Marion Co., SC came from.
Also on the 1790 census is listed a William and Joseph Fraser
We are researching ARCHIBOLD Cameron from Choctaw Co Mississippi. I am
finding a ALLEN Cameron next door to Archibold in the 1840 Choctaw
census --In the 1860 census I find a Mary Cameron 52 with a C.C.
Cameron 26 next door-- A 3 yr old in that family name Allen. I am
thinking C.C. may be a son of Allen They are about 5 or 6 doors from
Lucy Cameron wife of Archibold. Thanks Rena
HI Jean,
There could be a connection here, with the original ones from
SC, as this is where I think this line starts. That is oral history, not
proven.
My Cameron family could have originated in SC, then to NC, TN,
and AL. There was a large concentration of Scotch/Irish in NC & SC.
from 1750 on.
Good Hunting,
JackieMc

Hey Folks,
First, I would like to say HI to all of
you old-timers on the List, some of you
may remember me.
I have for some lengthy time been
trying to find the parents of my GGGrand-
mother, Susan Cameron, married to
Andrew McMinn, 3/10/1855, Madison Co.,
AL.
Our family had oral history that she was
born in South Carolina, but just recently, I
have found a missing page of 1850 Census
for Madison Co. AL, that gives her as born in
Alabama, in 1837.
She is with 2 brothers,

Dear Cuzzins: found the following data on Scioto Co., OH, Biographies at:
http://www.scioto.org/Pike/bios/perry.html
first go to http://www.Scioto.Org/Adams/ and then to histories links.
The surnames are so listed that when one clicks on a particular surname, you
will get the bios [completed] for the entire township. And - within the
bios are included many more surnames.
This is really a tremendous site and the compilers deserve a big "Thank You"
for their body of work.
Good hunting - good luck! H
Does anyone have any information on a Cameron's in Cocke Co. or any co. in
Tenn. I can't seem to find my Judith who married a David McKay also of Cocke
Co. in 1850'ish. Census indicate that she was born in Tenn. but I can't seem
to put her with a family. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks Pat
Hi Cameron's
I have a letter written by a Susie Cameron Morgan, dated January 11, 1934.
In this letter she tells the history of her Cameron family. The problem I
have is that some of the facts don't mesh with mine and I'm wondering where
the break is. I'll give you the basics, if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it.
the following is an excerpt from the letter: " Donald Cameron, with his wife
and 17 children, landed in NY in 1696. There were 3 sets of twins; Alexander
and James, Donald and David..and
Samuel Cameron died at Kingsey Falls, Quebec on 25 Sept. 1877 aged 85.
He was a pensioner. Death witnesses were S. M. Gilman and Allen Cameron.
Does anyone have information on Samuel?
Judith
< By the way, were the children listed those of Thomas or John??? Thanks and
good luck. Zou Feagin zfeagin@aol.com>
It is my understanding that the children are for Thomas.

Hugh died in Fairfield Co., OH 1843. Does anyone
have a clue to this Hugh?
