6. Re: Campbells on the Herny & Francis to USA 1685 [1]
I'm not a good source for that. The Covenanting banishments were over before 1700. How long the "indentured servant" thing went on, I don't know. I remember studying about it in school, but don't remember the particulars. Are there any county histories for the area in which you are searching which might indicate the "waves" of immigration. It would be a place to start. Also, I don't know what age your gr grandmother was found in another household, but if she were in her late teens or so, perhaps she

8. Looking for some historical background... [1]
Diarmid et al: Tracing my Campbell family tree has led me down some obscure and strange, though admittedly rarely boring paths. I come from a line of coal miners, beginning in this country at Albion Mines [Stellarton], Nova Scotia, sometime after 1828 [ My g-grandfather Joseph was born there in 1844], and ending in my direct line with my father in the Cape Breton coal fields at Dominion. I'm curious. From what areas of Scotland would the Pictou collieries have recruited the miners who arrived here from 1

If that person is on this list, or if someone who knows him is here... would love to hear from them. This Bobby Campbell is a son of James Harvey & Eva Marie Pearson Campbell (deceased). Thanks Marge Campbell

Ok, Patty, If you go to www,hhbooks.com and ask for item # 121140, that's the CD. It's 7.99 Canadain plus taxes and shipping. I would suggest doing it quick to avoid disappointment. This place deals in end of line type things a lot. They have a toll free # 1-800-361-1576 which has an answering machine in the off hours. If you are unable to get the toll free the Toronto Number is 905-881-0607. The place is called Hampstead House Books, I have used them for years. They don't have the video in the catal

19. RE: John N. Campbell/ OH/KY [1]
I have checked census online mostly, but in every county that seemed remotely possible and often looking at the actual microfiched originals (OH DEAR!). I am in Seattle and should go to the NARA office if I ever get a spare minute. However, I spent days in KY looking for any sign of him (public records for his family) when I first got started and had no luck at all. My grandfather doesn't even know where John N. (his father) and his 1st wife (Reva Pearl Mulholland Moore) were married. William Lewis/Louis

HI Marge My wife is a Campbell from Butler, Custer Co., OK. This family came through Christian Co. Linden/Sparta Twp. MO. 1869 - 1898. They then arrived in Pittsburg Co., OK. abt. 1908; I looked at your web site and did not find Ritchey to be the spelling. Give me a contact if anything should match.
