Hello to All,
I thought the following site would interest many members of the
Campbell list. The current pages contain copies of many historical
documents from the Kintyre region, for instance, The Argyll Rebellion of
1685. This concerns the attempt by the Earl of Argyll to oust James II ( I
know JII of United Kingdom). The rising was meant to coincide with that of
the Duke of Monmouth's rising in the West of England, since they didn't

Hi, Folks,
I received this message from Michael Cooley, the system administrator of
Genealogy Online, where the Campbell-L mailing list is housed. The system
is to be moved to its own T1 line, so there will be a time when your
messages won't get through. He doesn't specify the exact time the system
will be down - he's in California, so I'd expect it to be down from 6 pm
to about midnight, Pacific Standard Time. Or thereabouts. :-)
Just wanted to forwarn you that you might get a bounce during the move.
Campbell Researchers,
I am looking for information about my fourth great grandfather, Walter
Campbell. I started/built the Campbell web site
(http://www.csihq.com/campbell) in hopes of finding anything about this
guy. Nothing to date, if you use the site you might say he is the father
of it. After all the activity about "Alonzo Campbell" last week, I thought
I might try to start another fire storm about the name "Walter Campbell".
So here is what I either know or think that I know, if anyone can

My GGgrandmother Charotte Campbell , who married Hiram Surface, she was
born aug 6, 1843 in Ohio. Now this is the good part , she named her 6th
child Robert Alonzo, he was born
1880. Then Robert's brother , William Alma Surface named his son Walter
Alonzo, born 1908.
I think this pays looking into, don't you ?

Friends,
>From the Guardian Bonds of Washington County, VA (c1826): David
CAMPBELL named guardian of Dorcas BRADY and Josiah BRADY, orphans of
Josiah BRADY, deceased. Bood, $200. Surety, Edward Campbell.
Does anyone have the connection of this David CAMPBELL and these BRADY
children? People more wise than I have told me that there was very
likely some familial link between these persons. Was this the David
CAMPBELL who later became Govenor of Virginia?
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Sorry to post this to the list, but I didn't know any other way. If anyone
sent me an e-mail, please send it to me again, as I couldn't receive any

Hello everyone,
I am going to make a presentation shortly on genealogy on the web and I
would appreciate any inputs from you who have more experience than I. In
particular, I would like to know if there is a list of family name mailing
lists and where to find them. Also, are there any "How To" genealogy sites
on the web.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Yours Aye!
