Hi Donald,
I am slightly familiar with the subject William Campbell, cited in your
msg of 01 Feb 98, who died testate in Augusta County VA in 1759. I have
a copy of his will and have often wondered if he was related to either
the "White David" (descendant of John Campbell and Grace Hay) or the
"Black David" (descendant of Alexander Campbell who died in 1753)
Campbells of Augusta County VA. However, I have never found any evidence
which would support William's connection with either of these branches of
just wondering did John and Nancy have a child named
Nancy b. 1782???
In my Campbell line Nancy (Campbell) Hopper it tells of " the Campbell's
being descendants of the Royal family of Ireland; her mother, whose name
was also Nancy, lived to be 108 years of age."
Therefore I am looking for a woman b. around 1762 more or less
named Nancy.

Hello,
I found 12 family groups that include Campbells in the 1880 Federal Census for
Mercer Co., MO.
Would the information be of use to anyone? Please advise.
Thanks!
Becky

specific to them. TIA marsha

Margie,
I am related to the same Campbells as Leslie , and
would be exceedingly interested in seeing the Cherokee Rolls which you
have for Campbells.
Leslie,
Refresh my memory. Don't you descend from the Eliza Campbell/Henry
Hudson branch? Wasn't Henry Hudson was rumored to be the son of an
Indian Chieftain.... Chief Hudson, or something like that? I know that
the physical description of him would certainly indicate that he was
either of Native American or possibly Melungeon Descent, havi

If anyone lives near Montgomery, Alabama and get there paper there is a death
notice for Mary Evelyn Campbell. Would you please send me the information in the
obituary. Thank you in advance Jackie
My great-grandfather John W. Campbell born March 5, 1848 managed to join the Civil War effort
two months before his 15th birthday. He enlisted at Camp Portsmouth with the 8th Independent
Company Ohio Sharp Shooters. His pension file and his death certificate are the only documents
I have. Surely he lied at enlistment, so maybe everything he stated in his pension file was
designed to cover up the first fib. When he needed to prove his age for pension increase
purposes in 1914, (without giving any names)
I have seen this thread of postings in the last few days and I wonder if any
of those involved have family members that went from Phily to OH in the late
1700's or early 1800's. My earliest known Campbell is James C. Campbell b:
1811 in Mt. Pleasent, Jefferson Co., OH (Steubenville area). I have not been
able to pin parents to him. I have his name and birth info from his son's
death certificate.
Sherry Campbell.
You can find the royal Campbells on the Ancestral File at any LDS Family
History center under Michael Woods of Virginia, mid 1700's. His line goes back
to Campbell in a generation or two and it is royalty. I had it but it did not
turn out to be mine so I don't have it now. You can find it there.
