First a big thank you to all those who answer my question, as to the Twp, and Co. for Palmerston. I just knew I could count on the people on the list. They have never let me down yet.
Jill: You asked what name I was researching. Here we go again. It is Anderson, but this time James Anderson, son of Alexander Anderson, and Janet (Morton) Boyd. After he was married to Gertrude B. Broadwood, in Toronto Junction, they moved to Palmerston, from 1894 to 1898. Their two oldest children, Elda and Helen, were
Re your question about "new". In addition to the Southampton Cemetery
where your Barbara Matheson is buried there is also an 'Old' Southampton
Cemetery. So the former is the 'new Southampton Cemetery'. Hope this
helps.

To all:-
Do you sincerely desire the release of the 1911 census records?
We need to FIGHT in every ladylike and gentlemanly way we know.
ONE way is a POLITE request for release to The Hon. Allan Rock,
Minister of Industry. I have offered to send these for people who do
not have a fax machine or fax facilities -- Global Genealogy will
also send these FREE.
Any sent to me must be in WORD, please! These may be in an
attachment form if you have computer virus protection. YOUR

A Cunningham descendent sent me a scanned photo of Samuel Hawthorn's
children in a picture. I've now finally been able to have them identified
along with the Cunningham's, but my inbox crashed several months ago, and I
don't know who the Cunningham descendent was that sent me the photo. The
Hawthorn's were all born in Greenock Twp and apparently the Cunninghams and
Hawthorns went to Walkerton to have their photo taken at Trussters? There
are 12 of the 19 identified. The other 7 individuals were thought to h
HelpDoes anyone have the records for these two cemeteries? Would like to know what information you have for Sarah and George Moore in St Andrews. In the Chesley Cemetery Duncan, Harriet, Bertha Campbell. I have seen the tombstones of Duncan and Bertie Campbell but I'm trying to locate Harriet's, the mother and wife. When I visited the town many years ago I was unable to locate any information about the cemetery records.
Thank you,
Mary Jane rdevault@floripa.com.br
Jim, thank you for your suggestion, but how do I check the Cemetery book?
I live in Florida, and don't see any possibilty anywhere in the near future, of getting to Ontario. In my ignorance, is there a way to do so from here?
Georgiana
Dear Don,
Something of this nature should be among the collection of the Bruce County
Museum & Archives in Southampton. They have a website at
http://www.brucecounty.on.ca/museum/ with a contact link by which you could ask
them.

Thanks Cathy. Is there any hope the strike will be over soon? How will I
know what microfilm to request? Is there an index?
Also, does anyone have access to the Paisley Advocate B,M&D 1901-1910 that
would be willing to do a look up for me?
TIA
Rosemary
Does the Paisley Advocate go back to 1866 or beyond? Looking for Marion/ Mary

at which Chief Statistician Dr. Ivan Fellegi was to appear, has been
postponed. It was to have been tomorrow, 17 April 2002. I received no
reason for the postponem
I have been unable to find the grave of my great-grandfather, Alexander Anderson. His Ontario Government issued Death Certificate states he died at Chesley, Bruce Co. Ontario.
His wife Janet (Morton)(she remarried William Boyd) and is buried in Chesley under the name of Janet Boyd. His daughter Agnes Anderson, is listed on the same stone, as Janet Boyd,. A number of kind people have checked the cemetery--one even sent me pictures of Janet's stone, but there seems to be no trace of Alexander.

Hi Maggi,
The publications start circa 1870 and are a bit hit and miss until closer to
1890.

Dear Mary Jane,
Since their oldest child was born circa 1860, they probably had not been married long. Do you know Sarah's maiden name? I found a marriage for a George MOORE and a Sarah CRAWFORD
which took place in Huron County on Dec. 05, 1860.

The Hawthorns were from Greenock Twp, but I'm not sure where Bruce
McKitrick, son of George McKitrick and Sara Hawthorn (born in Greenock Twp)
was located in Ontario when he was serving as a judge in Juvenile Court and
was shot to death. Does anyone know of this story?

Seeking the John Adams family of Kincardine, Wife Margaret and hopefully
daughter Barbara age 16/17 on the 1891 census. The family with several of
Barbara's older sibilings is found on the 1901 census
for Kincardine.
John Adams is on the 1871 Ontario index at Fergus Wellington but since
Barbara gives her birth place as Kincardine perhaps the family moved there

To Eileen Wilson:
Thank you for your information, however, that is not my family. None of those names are familiar, and I do know the family names, so there cannot be a connection.
As mentioned, last time. I have a picture of Janet (Morton,Anderson)Boyd's gravestone, on which is also listed her daughter Agnes Anderson, and a granddaughter, Alexa.
Janet married William Boyd at Chesley (at least this is what I have been lead to believe), however, although he died fairly young I do not know where they were
Does anyone have a contact/mailing address for burial records of the Stokes Bay Cemetery? I have the headstone transcription for my ancestor but it only provides a year and I'd like to try and get a more exact date so I can track down an obituary.

Hi Judy,
According to the 1871 Census, Rev. Richard LARGE was an "Episcopal Methodist"
minister living in the village of Kincardine. Although I don't have the 1878
Marriage Register on hand, I checked the 1869-1873 version for any mention of Rev.
Large. All the marriages he performed during that timeframe took place in the
village of Kincardine.
