2. Minto grgrandfather [1]
THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! Especially Alan, Allan, Gene and "nshobbies". The censuses answered at least some of my questions, and unfortunately I now know it' NOT Robert from Bruce. He shows up still in Ontario in 1901 (my relative was in States by then), and then is actually in Saskatchewan in 1906. However, either of my 2 William's (Waterloo and Northumberland) could be him. They both do not show up in 1901 whilst many of their relatives remain. Oh well, more to puzzle out. Tbank you all again, and if anyo

4. GrGrandfather MINTO [1]
I know this is a longshot, but... I am trying to locate information on my grgrandfather and family. I know his family emigrated to Canada from Scotland, and that he immigrated to NYC by 1884. There are no MINTO's in the 1880 US census that could be him. I have found 3 possible candidates that could be him in the 1881 Canadian census. My mother believed his name was Robert, so my leading candidate is Robert Minto, born 1864, living in Bruce, Bruce North, Ontario. His parents were John (b. abt. 1829 Scotland

6. RE: [BRUCE] GrGrandfather MINTO [1]
Hello Val, You're probably looking at the Library and Archives Canada web site, which is not indexed by name. Have a look at the Automated Genealogy site for the 1901 census at: http://automatedgenealogy.com/census/cache/NationalSummary.jsp It's indexed by name and I think you'll find what you're looking for there. It will show the basic info and also refer you to the exact location at the Archives site so that you can see the original census pages. Good luck. Al Currie, Surrey, BC -----Original Mess

9. SCOTTS in Bruce Co. [1]
Hi Everyone, I submitted this query quite some time ago and have made some progress. However, I still haven't found any evidence of Benjamin Scott's birth. I have seen it written that he was born in Walkerton, Ontario but the source has been incorrect on a few occasions. So... I'm going to put forth my query again in hopes that someone will be able to help. I've been trying off and on for a few years now to find information on a David Scott and his family. .
