Thanks again. This tidbit will go in my leads folder. Mary has proved
elusive thus far but I have every hope that I will eventually find out
more about her.
Also, I have been following your Clark saga with great interest.

Don informed me that the attachment I sent has a virus (see his e-mail
below). WebTv is suppose to be unable to transmit a virus to me so it
must have originated in the article I sent you from the newspaper
website. So you will probably want to delete that file. I will let the
Detroit News know.

I am researching Luke Brown 1818-1909 and his wife Charlotte McNutt ca.
1825-1889, both born in NS and died in Dunwich township, Elgin Co. Their
children were Louisa Page, Jane, Caroline, Henry, Christine Sharp, May,
Charlotte, James C., Luke H., Marvin, Martha and Daniel. I would like to
exchange information with anyone who knows anything about this family.

My gr grandmother was Mary M. HAMILTON. On Oct 20 1867 she married my

I found a reference to Samuel Harris in my book "Some Descendants of Samuel
McIntyre and Dorcas Whitman" compiled in 1997 by Harvey MacIntyre. I will
give you a sample here.
He believes Samuel married Dorcas McIntyre, daughter of Samuel McIntyre and
Dorcas Whitman.
He believes Samuel is a brother to John Harris.
"The Harris brothrs were original settlers on back street, along with
Daniel and Samuel McIntyre." Said to be natives of Nova Scotia. Show up in
census for 1842, 1851, 1861.

Dear list members,
I am looking for an obit from the Dutton Advance newspaper for Luke Brown

I don't know where else to turn.

I appreciate the offer but I forgot to mention earlier that Mary M.
HAMILTON was buried in Lakeport Cemetery, Lakeport, St. Clair County,
Michigan. Lakeport is located just north of Port Huron. Her husband
Erastus HARRIS died in Lakeport on July 5th, 1923. I presume (can be
dangerous/handle with care) that he was also buried in Lakeport Cemetery
but do not know that as fact.

Hello Winnifred:
My Uncle, John NEWTON of EAGLE-DUNWICH twp, Elgin, ONTARIO came to the US &
moved to California. I never knew where he was born. The Social Security

It now may be possible that Ruth Clark married to James Welch(Welsh) may be
a sister to my Rachel Clark, born 1827, Dunwich. Ruth died in 1908. In list
of people from Elijah Clark, d, Dec. 9, 1894, I found a name of George
Silcox as brother-in-law and executor of Elijah's will. Is there a marriage
anywhere of a George Silcox(Southwold) to another Clark girl? She could be
number two sister of my search.
Dorcas Clark , married to James Bradley Lowthar, would have been dead before
my Rachel's visit to Ontario
Dear Billy and Joan,
Checked the transcriptions again. The questioned 1867 is correct and
the 18... is 1888.

Yes! Bingo! I found them this morning in my book "Some Descendants of Samuel

I have just learned my great grandmother made a return trip from KY to see
her three sisters and one brother living in the Elgin Area. Rachel Clark,b
Dunwich Sept. 1827 married William Peter Jones,b Malahide Sept 1825. They
were married in 1845 and moved to KY in 1854.
The note remarked she was in her late years when she visited. I guess it
would have been in 1888-9 or later as she died 1908. So I am looking for
three Clark girl marriages between 1845 and ? and living in the Elgin Area
in late 1880's.
