Thank you for replying Annie.
I am looking for Robert Carruthers, born in Ontario, to Thomas and Amy, who
moved to Saskatchewan in the early 1900's to make a farm for himself, marry
and have a family.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

Six Thousand Canadian Men by Ed Russenholt, lists men who served in
the 44th Battalion in World War One. You could try emailing Jacquie Nex,
jacnex@telus.net, she has her name on a lookup list indicating she has this
particular book.
There are other resources such as the NA web site, where you can look
up soldiers of the First World War, NA - Soldiers of the First World War -

Sorry I didn't get to respond earlier Robin but I do thank you for the
message. I've
always been a political creature and I developed a respect for Ray

from a distance. It began during his days as an MP under Joe Clark and then on
in Mulroney's government if I recall correctly.
I thought his selection as Governor General was excellent and well deserved. In
fact, he brought a quiet dignity and down-to-earth grace to the position.
In fact,

Are there any on line indexes or lists for Saskatchewan? I am trying to find
a relative that moved there sometime in the early 1900's. So far I can't get
to first base with this and don't know where to start.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I am new to this list and I have a bit of a puzzle. My grandfather,
Edward WINDSOR and his wife, Edith, came to Canada about 1910/11. He
was a farmer from England and I understand they had a land grant. The
only grant I can find is one to Edward Windsor on August 26, 1910 in
Sask. - Township 44, Range 23, West of the 3rd Meridian, the SE quarter
of Section 14. I am not sure if this my Edward as his farming venture
failed and he ended up in B.C. where he died in 1915 of heart failure.

I have a copy of my late fathers birth certificate which was issued before he signed up for the RCAF during WWII.
He hated his second name and before enlisting had it legally changed, which is the birth certificate I have.
In this case, what happens to the original registration paperwork? Is it kept on file with the amended paperwork or is the original destroyed?
If I sent to Vital Stats for a copy of his birth certificate, and request the orig

Hi Listers; does anyone have access to the "New Super Bundle 20" and if so would you have time to look up a name for me? Mary Johnston is the name, it's a long story and I won't bore you with the details. Hope you all had an enjoyable Christmas and wishing you a Happy New Year.
Sincerely,
Wally Burnie.
I don't know about Saskatchewan. But here in BC I go my aunt's birth
certificate and much to my disappointment it gave her changed name not her
original one.

Greetings All.
My thanks to all who have forwarded to me the message relating to Professor

regarding Statistics Canada's refusal to grant access to the 1906 Special
Western Census. I have been in contact with Professor Waiser who will be

I'm new to the list - I thought people from Dubuc and area would enjoy
reading this: Oscar Clark in the article is my father. Is the Stroker family

Excerpts of letter from Lillian Clark(my father's sister from Dubuc)
they had a book made of when Dubuc first became a town in 1905 and of
course, it is full of pictures of people and Dubuc as it used to be and of
course different highlights. Im going to send you the highlight that is in
