Hi Thelma
Have you covered Oxfordshire yet as I have forgotten to trace my Winsor
relatives (no relation to the Queen !) that seemed to spent some time in
Oxford. I am trying to trace Phyllis Winsor who was born in 1881 on a canal
boat named St Thomas in Oxford.
Regards
Karen

Dear All,
I am researching the Cutt/Cutts families of the East Midlands (and wherever they have moved to or from).
Some of the Cutts were boatmen and worked on the canals.
We have now found that there is a trade card at Hackney Archives which shows that Smith and Cutt were importers of coals, (from Sunderland, Newcastle and Stockton) and they had their warehouse at Baltic Wharf on the Grand Union Canal at the Kingsland Basin beside the Kingsland Road in Hackney. The date is believed to be circa 1820.
