Nancy, hi:
I'd be interested in knowing the ages of Mary & John A. McCombs at the time they left Margen City, IL. I have gggrandparents probably of those names who disappeared from Jefferson Co. NY about that time, but John would have been about 50.
Thanks

Didn't find your Ida Lou Giffen Greeley listed anywhere. Maybe she didn't die in Nevada county.

I have a mystery! ELLEN SULLIVAN was born in 1855 in Maine. Her family came
west for the Gold. Her father EDWARD SULLIVAN and mother ELLEN SULLIVAN lived
on ALLISON RANCH RD. They raised nine children there, most of the boys worked
the mines in and around GRASS VALLEY and NEVADA CITY. I found ELLEN SULLIVAN
on the 1870 census in GRASS VALLEY with her family. On the 1880 she is gone.
When her father and mother dies, there's no mention of her. Yet all the rest
of the family is listed. I don't know wha

For those who felt that the World Trade Center acreage should have been turned into a memorial park for the victims, perhaps this will explain why New York hardly gave it a thought.

Searching for the gravesite of William R. Fitzgerald.
He was born in Ireland in 1824 immigrated to Georgia.
A group of 86 miners came from northern Georgia to Grass Valley. He died
in January of 1852. His young widow was notified by a minister of his death.
Thank you for any help or suggestions in finding him.
Rochelle
