1. Looking for info on John O. Cannon of Bradley Co., TN [1]
I have been looking for the family of Jane Cannon for years and think there might be a connection to John O. Cannon (b 9 Sep 1803 in NC--d 1846 in Bradley Co. TN). John married Caroline Nelson in 1829. She died in 1839 and he married his second wife, Mahala Torbett 1 Oct 1840. The record shows that John served in the Tennessee House 22nd General Assembly 1837-1839, and was a Democrat. He was elected Judge of the 3rd Judicial Circuit in 1844 and served until his death in 1846. My gt-gt grandmother
2. Re: [CANNON] Looking for info on John O. Cannon of Bradley Co., TN [1]
Carol, I do not think I know the family that you are looking but your post peaks my interest. My husband's gggrandmother was Martha Jane Cannon married c1848 Stephen Adkerson in Rockingham County, NC. The marriage of my husband's ggrandfather list his mother as Jane. My husband is also off the Nelson line.
