The Scottish Heritage Center is a good suggestion, but many researchers are still not aware of it. Another one to consider is the N.C. State Archives in Raleigh, NC. They have a genealogy section. I wanted to post on the list to say thank you compliment how helpful everyone has been. I will look into each library suggested. Just out of curiosity, has anyone read the book I am wanting to place in a good NC library? It is titled, The Settlements of Western Perthshire-Land and Society North of the Highland Line (1480-1851) by James Stewart, Pentland Press, Ltd, Edinburgh, 1990. It is excellent for studying the history, social culture, and society of this time period, in and around Balquhidder, Perthshir
