please help if you can.I have been trying to trace my Great
grandfather George
Dobson. On his marriage license he lists his place of birth as
St.Vincent,WI
His father's name as Richard Dobson and mother as Sarah E.No maiden
name.Both
of Northumberland,England. How can I get a birth record for George so
that I can trace the family back to England.I can't find any record of
Richard or Sarah
Dobson in the 1851 census of England.I have called the records
department in St.Vincent.They said they could find no birth
actually, i am a full time researcher in population genetics, and you
would be quite surprised you unrelated people of the same "race" can
be, as well as how closely related people of two different "races" can
be. by closely related, i mean they have a more recent common ancestor
than someone they are less related to.
race is a completely social construct, with no basis in science.

Hi Gang:
Haven't been doing my research much of late, but can anyone tell me what the
heck happen to the above mentioned site. I had it tagged for my favorites and
every time I try to access them, I get an error page.
I found this site to be very informative and now it has been yanked from me
before I could print some info.
Cheers

my note
as previously stated - your belief is incorrect - if you believe that the book
of Genesis is true - which is your own personal choice - and you know the
original language of the book - then it is very clear that Adam was RED - DARK
RED - similar to BROWN
Liguanea is in St. Andrew, in an area close to Kingston. We still refer to the
'Liguanea Plain.' I looked in the 1840 Almanac, on my site
http://jamaicanfamilysearch.com. Pleasant Prospect in St. Andrew belonged to
Charles William Hall at the time. The child must have been born in St. Andrew
and taken to St. Thomas for baptism.
Hope this helps--nothing like looking in the right parish!

Bonjour
We are trying to trace history of Malte's order in St Christophe (St Kitts)
from
1639 (commandeur Philippe LONVILLIERS de POINCY)
1660 (Charles de SALE)
1666 (Claude ROUX chevalier de SAINT LAURENS)
1689 (Charle de PEYCHPEYROU-COMMINGES chevalier de GUITAUD)
But in french archives we have not found a document about (Claude ROUX)
chevalier de SAINT LAURENS saying he was of Malte's order (Saint Jean de
Jerusalem)
Are they trace of chevalier de Saint Laurens in english archives or in a book ?
Merci

I don;t what this conversation is about, but here are a couple of more
related books-
"A Place Called Freedom".....another wonderful book by British author
Ken Follet. Its story of a Scottish coal miner worker and his escape
to 'new world' (US).
"Volga to Ganga" - Rahul Sankrtayayan(Sp??) - Indian author settled in
Russia. It is said that 'Aryan' race originated in east Europe (on the
banks of Volga) and then they moved east to India and west to western
Europe. Its the story of those Aryans who came to In
the root of the word ADAM means RED
thus when the Holy Bible says that G-d created ADAM it can be understood that
G-d created RED MAN
thus he was probably RED

Hi Nevilla:
so sorry to hear of all your hard work disappearing on you. Here is a
suggestion and I don;t know if it can be done, but call the University of
Maryland or Montgomery College and see if someone in their computer department
can help you restore some of this information. Lots of times there are
students that have projects that entail doing restorations on computers.

However, on a different topic, I was wondering if anyone here has heard of
an "immigration plan" from Jamaica to Cuba???
YES - approximately 10% of Cubans should be of Jamaican ancestry
Most Jamaicans emigrated to Cuba in the early 1900's to Oriente province
specifically Santiago and Camaguay in Oriente. they included all social levels
and races that were in Jamaica.
Well here I am again... full of questions as always... now the invisible
ancestors are telling me I need to go to South America for their early
deFreitas ancestors...
Any suggestions as best way to start.. it will need to be pre-1870's.....Not
familiar with their record keeping... When I got into the Portugal sites most
of them were in Porstuguese with no translation..... will this be similar..
if any of you has done it before would appreciate the best places to start..I
know that there was a ship
Closest hit one Gottlieb - see personal e-mail.

Christi,
I just did some research and the clot as Ron Baynes described him
is very much alive. I sent him a sweet but sarcastic e mail. I guess we all
have been through this where people pick your brain for family info and then
when they get it you are yesterdays trash. At least have the common courtesy of
giving thanks when due. Nuf said. I have got it off my chest.

I am in full agreement, John. I don't know how my recommendation of
some books on English History degenerated into this propaganda. I, as
well, find it offensive and trust it will stop. My religious views are
PRIVATE and I don't appreciate anyone invading my space with their
views. (and this was the 'polite' version email!)

Thank you Stephanie.......I found your post to be extremely interesting
and is the type of calm, rational discussion I was hoping we could have.
I can identify with what you say as my husband came up here in the 50's
(and his father before him in the late 20's) and they never let on they
were anything but white. They couldn't!! I finally clued in after my
husband was looking for a job and putting his schooling down as in
Jamaica.....and he was not getting any calls. We took any mention of

Hi everyone
Reading various mails this morning on this subject, do I understand correctly
that there are old maps depicting specific plantations?
If this is correct, where could I get a map for The Blue Mountain area of St
Thomas in the East, Jamaica c1810 to 1840.
Please forgive me if I have completely misunderstood the mailings.
Kind regards
Jean
I picked up several names that I knew quite well at the Ellis island website. What I found was that the ages weren't correct. In one family that travelled as such, the spacing between siblings were correct but they were all 2 years older than they should have been in that year (all below 18 yrs)
Another guy who I found through the Social Security Death Index was 2 years younger than listed on the Index. I still haven't been able to get a birth record for him so I don't know which was the correct age... I s
