Dear Gerry, Thank you for that helpful information. I wasn't sure which
way to turn next but Pauline very kindly offered to look up the indexes at
Carmarthen when she saw our Emails.
I appreciate very much to participate in these lists and connecting with
such special people..
Sincerely, Helen

Hi Merv
There are quite a lot of Anthony connections on this list - your information
is a bit new for me to help you - but I know there is an Anthony web page
somewhere - bad news is that I do not know the web page number - CAN anyone
else help out here....
Hi Dave
Can't promise because I have such a backlog of work waiting to be looked at
in Carms RO - but when I look in Laugharne I'll see if I can find anything on
these.........
Thanks for the maps, I am absolutely awful with geography - I never have
chance to look at web sites, so thanks for letting us know the web pages for
these, everyone will remember Glyn and Westfa hamlets anyway............
Hi Pauline and Pat,
I have just found my WILLIAMS's in 25 Front Street, Pembroke Dock in 1851. She married THOMAS HILL (at sometime!) and lived in 29 Front Street. Laura Hill took over 25 Front Street later on. I was in Pembroke Dock last week and spoke to the chap who now lives in number 25! and he and a neighbour remembered Laura!
Now for the main reason for the message.
The census shows WILLIAM WILLIAMS coming from Aberdovey, Merioneth, aged 58 and a SHipwright.
His wife is JANE, aged 51. Born in ..
Hello Ellen
Thanks for that message and thanks to the listers for always assisting on
this list - yes, we are very lucky to have such listers, and a very friendly
list, but that is what family research is all about - trying to find our
long long ancestors, and even when I find them for someone else, I'm over
the moon for them.
Again- with indexes, transcriptions, there are bound to be errors - I myself
am typing in the 1851 census for Carmarthenshire - and I am having trouble
sometimes with the address a
Pauline.
Did you see the info i sent over regarding sterling money orders from
California, they only charge $5 for us to buy one, at 1 dollar and 50cents to
the pound average thats just a little over 3 pounds.
If you don't have it let me know and i will send it again, these people deal
with all currencies.
I know the banks are screwing the heck out of us, if i transfer funds from my
English account to U.S. my bank here charges me $10 handling fee, Lloyds have
already sent it in dollars, and it';s all
. I'm trying to trace David J. LEWIS a railway platelayer in 1912 when his wife, Anne LEWIS died at the age of 58. They had three daughters; Sarah LEWIS b. 8 Aug 1884 (my wife's Grandmother); Annie LEWIS b. 13 Aug 1885 and Edith LEWIS b. 13 Jan 1892. Anne LEWIS death was recorded in the local paper on 31st December 1912.

Hello All,
Saw you were going to look into parish registers in Laughrne and wondering if they have any information on film before & after 1890, please let us know too. My Grandmother born in 1893.
I am also wondering if there are any films or registers of the cemetaries in Meidrin parish, as I know that is where my people are buried, Gibby, Richards, etc, as my Uncle was there in April and is still waiting for information from the church records person there. Gibby is buried there with the Richards (h
Hi Angela
So pleased that you could reminisce with this story - wonderful nickname
"Dai Loco" - it has got to be him because he was named a loco-driver in part
that I did not write. Nicknames are not used anymore - but I suppose not
everyone is called Dai, Will, or John these days.......
Was it a good game at Stradey?? I only watch from the comfort of home -
speak soon Pauline

Advise me please. Could the name Harris in Dorset become Harries in Wales,
not by a transcription mistake, or because of an inability to spell, but
because this was the Welsh way of spelling Harris?
Many thanks

Hello Monte
First things first - YES Phillip/s and Jenkin/s are very popular names in
Wales - sorry.
Mary Jenkin/s was NOT a servant in Pencally Llangendeirne in 1851 This was a
farm of 170 acres run by a Griffiths family - I cannot find her anywhere -
unless she has given the wrong age of course - which does sometimes happen -
A limeburner is a burner of lime in a quarry - there is still a quarry in
Llangendeirne today on the way to Carmarthen which is a lime quarry.
I have two possible marriages but I

Hi Jackie & All interested in this project.
I must say I have been overwhelmed by the response to this idea, thank you

I have been working on this project for a day or two now and will post more

As Jackie has asked below: 'How will overseas contributors pay?' At this

Hello Pauline,
I saw you note yesterday that mail was a bit quiet and wondered if you could help me with this message that I sent earlier in the month.

Hay-on-Wye.
Hello List,
I posted this a while ago and was wondering in any records have been indexed for Llangadog Church. I am sure I remember something similar to this last year another researcher had some lookups done , but since a computer crash 3 months ago I lost all my old records and address book. Luckily I have printed off all the important s

I downloaded the Eisteddfod pictures successfully and passed them on the gang over here. Well done, Richard.
As I looked, I couldn't couldn't help noticing the people, none of whom I of course knew and was reminded of something my wife overheard back in 1973 when we visited our cousins in Aberdare for the first time. The daughter remarked to her mother, "It's rather disappointing, they're like us!" Perhaps she was expecting us to arrive wearing ten-gallon hats and sporting "shootin' arns".

Hi Jean,
Have you looked for passenger lists or census records at the local
LDS Church Family History Center? You do not have to be a member to
go there. There is no charge unless you order microfilm or microfiche.

Hello Listers! I am new to this list!
I am researching the following:
Rev. Rice Jones m. Anna Jemima Williams
Their children:
Namaria Jones b. January 01, 1758
Rice Jones, Jr. b. 1755
Rowena
Namaria Jones married John Jacob of Painswick, Gloucestershire, England on
September 15, 1789. They are my 4th great-grandparents.
I've read of a Rev. Rice Jones who traumatized the Quakers. I wonder if this
is our boy?
I would appreciate any help!
Thanks!
