I was able to put people together via the Cornwall Rootsweb board. I made an
enquiry on behalf of a family friend. The administrator on the board
reported that someone else had been enquiring about a certain individual and it
appears that they were related to the person I was trying to help and they were
able to exchange information and have kept in touch. I have found the
contributors to these boards both helpful and friendly and the help they give
invaluable.

This is nothing to do with genealogy, but for all of us who use the internet for on-line banking.....
I was sent an email yesterday supposedly from my bank to check my security level by entering their pages, and in turn they would have had my personal numbers etc to enter and access my bank account.....but is was a scam which thankfully I did notice, and sent the email directly to my bank, which in turn have now put a warning on their banking pages....
I hope that no-one has been tricked into giving infor

Over the holidays I have been re-visiting some months-old emails, and this caught my eye. Your Sarah Lewis, born about 1863, could be related to my Lewis's; if you have you found her and her family in the 1881 census, and care to tell me what you found, I might be able to identify the father of Elizabeth Lewis.
Happy New Year

Just a quick note to thank you all for the enjoyment your messages have given me throughout the past year and to specifically thank those of you who have contributed to my own research.

Hi Darla
What information do you have......I am indexing baptisms and have seen
baptisms from various parishes.......but, mainly they were of the parish
that they were born in.....
Let me know, if non-conformist they would travel miles to go to the chapel
of their choice....

Sorry Pauline to be bombarding you with emails tonight but clearly there is some glitch in communication at one end or the other. I have just been working through my 'Deleted' box, loads of emails from you I have never seen before - mostly to the list but some to me. In particular the one below. of 17.11.2003, which really rattled me. I have always tried meticulously to acknowledge help and would never knowingly have failed to reply when you have helped - please believe that. But as you can see, your e
Hi Mary
I have a few Erasmus children of a William and Ann at the time in question
in Pembrey baptisms, but not a William....surely he would have named one of
the children after himself.....perhaps his baptism went missing....
The only William that I can find is in 1819
1819 11th April
William Erasmus son William Griffiths labourer Parcymynydd and Jane Erasmus,
Wern, spinster
he may have gone by the surname Griffiths, but when I index and illigitimate
I always index in both fathers and mothers names...
HI Gilly
Pre purchasing the marriage certificate try the record office to see if they
have the marriage in Llanelli parish church (St Elli), or perhaps St Pauls
parish church which was the chapel of ease......you may be lucky and the
marriage that the Registry office has took place in the parish
church.....its worth a try anyway.
The record office is open until Tuesday or is it Wednesday? you could send
them an email and ask if they have the marriage, give the details given by
the registry office (dates n
Hi Christopher
I only knew about this book when talking to a person whom I know through
genealogy in Llanelli.....she stated that the person who wrote it lives in
Llanelli, and that is how she obtained hers.....
I have not read it yet, but I enjoy any books of interest.....
Thanks for letting us know...I'll have to check the archives..
regards Pauline

Hello John
This is to do with the Tanner family, not with CMN graveyards!
Can you add anything to my record of David [son of Benjamin TANNER of Brecon] who was an iron/ tinplate works entrepreneur around 1780-90? He was active mostly in Monmouthshire and the Forest of Dean, was High Sheriff of [?] Monmouthshire in 1792, became bankrupt in 1798 and then did a flit to the East Indies.
Happy New Year

Pauline, according to the death certificate of Morgan Charles he was
born about 1846. Since receiving your information on David and Margaret
Morgan Charles I came to the conclusion that Morgan isn't the brother of
Owen but closely related. I have a question now. If I have a date of
birth of someone and his death certi
I just upgraded to RootsMagic after a number of years with Family Origins, and I am very pleased. RootsMagic now contains ALMOST all of the things I have wished for over the years. Bruce Buzbee has continually upgraded Family Origins since DOS days, and I have stuck with it, but since Genealogy.com has discontinued everything they have acquired with the exception of Family Tree Maker (which I own and continue to upgrade, but dislike), I decided to go with Bruce and his independent operation.

It is a long way from snowy cold Colorado to wet green Carmarthenshire but the season is the same and I wish Pauline and Richard a very merry holiday and a successful new year. Also to all the listers who entertain my morning for a few moments with their requests, occasional complaints, interesting bits of information and complex family genealogies I say keep it coming; it is a lot more interesting than the spam I am deluged with these days.
