Hi Anne,
Not a lot, but something tht might be of interest.
In the 1850's two families shared a house in Llangan.
This was a DAVIES family and a MORRIS family.
I can send you details 'off list' if you wish, as this would be an attachment.
Regards
John Spencer
Hi Ron
I have them but not indexed them yet.....will see if I can find him, as they
are in the old style of register and more difficult to locate as it is a
fairly large parish

Hello Althea
Mine is much later, John THOMAS 1852 Llangyfelach.
Did you know that in Glamorgan alone there were 1444 John THOMAS's in
1851, and 1745 in 1861, such originality.

Lyn, if he is a mariner, which is a sailor this is definately them.......you
also have her parents that she is living with - now that is a good catch!!
You should be able to get a certificate for her now, send to Llanelly
registry office......parents
William Thomas and Elizabeth Morgan
the index is by mothers name.....you also have the fathers name and
occupation, so ask for c1843 they will do a 5 year search for you.......
let us know how you get on....

Hello Pauline,
Do they have birth or baptismal records back as far as 1806 in Llandielo Fawr parish? If so could you please see if there are records of John Rees-1806, and Jane Rees-1807.
Of course they weren't related then, even though they had the same name. They were married in 1833.
Thank You,
Ron Rees
Pauline,
I've given up on any quick answers in my search for Henry Lloyd, b c. 1709,
given the lack of indexes covering those years.
Perhaps, though, you might have information about another family that I'm
trying to track down. Do you have any information about a Joseph Marks, who
is said by one website to have lived in Llandyfaelog c 1730-1780? He had a
son John b. 1773 and is said to have been a cooper. I would be grateful for
any information you might be able to find on that family and their
Suzy do you have approx ages for the children, being popular names they will
be harder to locate

Richard - I happened to be researching this site when I found a
reference to Bonnell. I hope it may be of interest.

Hi Pauline!
If you could help me, that would be great!
I found my 2 x great grandmother, Esther THOMAS on the 1881 census at 5 Railway Terrace, Llanelly. She was 38 and born in Llanelly. I applied for her birth certificate and was sent one for 1845 born Rhandir, Llanelly to David THOMAS and Margaret nee EVANS. That was a few years ago. Recently I got her marriage certificate to my 2 x great grandfather, Richard MARTIN in 1864. She is shown as 22 (1842/1843) and her father was William THOMAS, not David.
Hi Lyn
What was the occupation of William Thomas.......not many Esther Thomas in
Llanelly of that age, but her name could have been spelt
differently......this one is in Ann St but father a sailor who was not at
home.
1851 census Llanelly dist 1c Boro hamlet sch 94 page 22
Ann Street, Wern
Thomas Morgan head 56 ironfoundry pattern maker born Llanllwny Carms
Esther Morgan wife marr 54 born Llanelly
Thomas Morgan son 24 ironfoundry pattern makesborn Swansea Glam
William Morgan son 16 blacksmith striker
Pauline, thanks for the information - I wasn't really fishing for the names
of Jane's parents but you findings are great!!.
I've always been told that there were BONNELLS way back in our family, but
actually finding details about them has been marvellous.
I assume "Tynewydd" is a name of a house or farm.
Thanks once again
Richard
Do you have the marriage cert of Evan Davis/ies and Elizabeth Williams, it
will confirm who his father was......just a thought.......

Hi All
I am new to your list. Wondering if anyone out there is researching the JACOB Family from LLANDEILO. We are researching William JACOB(S) born about 1812-1816. Parents could have been John JACOB & Ann. William was a sawyer his children were as far as we know were Ann & Letitia. Not sure about any others but we know that he also married (2)Elizabeth JONES about 1870 & (3)Sarah JONES later on. His daughter Ann married Henry ANTHONY in Monmouthshire as we do have all that information.
Does any have any o
My great great great grandfather was a John Rees born at Llanarthney in
1812. His mother was Ann Rees from Llanstephan and her maiden name was Williams.
They worked on the estate at middleton, now the National Gardens.
D Evans .
Thanks Pauline

To whom it may concern.
I recently signed up to carmarthenshire rootsweb and left some messages on
the boards available. Unfortunately I seem to be receiving a large amount of
messaages via e-mail which are nothing to do with my ancestry and not
intended for me.
I would like to block all e-mails from the site that are not related to my
search.
Please could you advise.
Many thanks.
D Evans (Mr)
Hi Alan
According to the information I have Llanlluan is in Llanarthney parish
Carmarthenshire....
Its a Calvinistic Methodist chapel....records available are
births and baptisms: 1819-37 PRO London RG4/2255 also on the IGI
you can find these records on the IGI before or after these dates the
records do not appear to be in the public sector
hope this helps

Hi
I am receiving mail from this list but not as much lately. When I saw your
e-mail I thought it a co-incidence because I am looking for an ancestor from
Llangan - Hannah/Ann Morris. She married a John Davies who was born according
to the 1881 census in Lampeter Velfrey. They moved to Llanelly CMN in late
1850s. Have you access to any records in this area that might help me with
my research.
Regards
Anne
