Hi,
I've found Harry Franklin Carpenter in Puyallup, Washington born May 23, 1893
died
Dec. 30, 1964 in Tacoma, Wa. His father died when he was a baby, his mother
Margaret Spence Carpenter, remarried John Edward Hetley July 28, 1895. On
Ancestry I found a Shari McCollum searching for info on this person but when
I sent an email to her it came back, I'm hoping someone here can help me.
Thanks, Linda
Hello,
In the 1400s a Richard Carpenter was a bit of an alchemist. He was related (closely?) with Bishop John Carpenter-4678 (1399-1476) of Worcester, Worcester, England.
Any thoughts or comments?

Received a copy of Richard Carpenter's, 1559, 'Westeharam' or West Harnam
will. Richard should be suspected as the progenitor of many or most of the
Salisbury area Carpenters in the late 1550s and early 1600s. His will
mentions his wife and one son RICHARD. It seems likely that the long
discussed Richard Carpenter of Newton Tony (will 1590/1) was the son of
'Westeharam' Richard.

The will of Andrew Carpenter, 'brewer', 1571, Oxford revealed a surprise. He
left a small behest to a Robert Carpenter of Exeter College (Oxford
University). Long ago I had uncovered Robert's Oxford data with account of
his 'poverty'. Andrew Carpenter was a son of Henry Carpenter of Locking,
thus Robert should be a nephew. Henry Himself had a son Robert who himself
had a son Robert who married a Mary Croxford. Robert of Oxford University
was removed from the rolls due to absence in Ireland in 1579. Andrew s

Listed as Amy's parents were: Clarence Edgerton and Mary Clark.
Both Jason and Amy resided in Mason Township, Arenac County, MI.
Jason's occupation was listed as farmer; Amy's occupation listed as school
teacher.

Subject: Vincents/Carpenters in Amesbury
Dear fellow genealogist:
I am writing to you because
We have been searching for Fannie Farrow b. MN in the late 1860's d. Iowa 1894 and for her birth family. Recently, I recieved a note that indicated that in 1894 her mother was called Mrs Carpenter. Does anyone know of any marraiges between the Farrows/Ferriers and the Carpentor family? Or does anyone have a listing of a baby Fannie Carpenter born around that time?
It may help someone to know that this family was fluent in German/Dutch and may have had ties to a Brethren or Mennonite church.

My research on Providence William is still unfinished, but I still want to
share a few possible surprises. His great grandfather according to my
interpretation would have been a William Carpenter who resided late in life

had three sons, William, Robert and Richard, named in his 1597 PCC will.

Wasn't Harry Rogers from Abingdon? Poor Harry became swept up in the
'Carpenters as Descendants of Gentry-Coat of Arms Mania'. He didn't realize
the people he should have studied lived around the corner. I suspect because
they worked for a living they weren't worth his notice.

I've seen some posts about visiting Hofstra Univ. -the place you want to
go to is actually THE LONG ISLAND STUDIES INSTITUTE which is a library
branch of Hofstra .I was there last year and can say I want to go back
-even though the building is small and cramped they seem to have a lot of
records
there's a web site about the institute -including links for maps
BTW I'd recommend going by car if possible -
