6. [CARPENTER] Re: album [1]
How interesting... my Carpenters came from Nebraska(Platte River) and Kansas . In the early part of the 1900s a few married Pavelitich's and I have 6 generations of poems written by Carpenters in that area, some of which were published. I do not know anything about the people mentioned in what you wrote, but would be very interested in talking to whoever feels they can claim the album, because I think I might be connected, even distantly, to them. Good luck in finding it a home! Kathy

8. [CARPENTER] THOMAS of Henry Co Changes [1]
I received some information regarding changes to the Thomas CARPENTER line (b.abt 1775-1782 lived in Henry Co GA): 1. I had noted that according to Mrs. Ross's book that Martha CARPENTER (b.abt 1827) of the 1850 Randolph Co ALA Census with a son Elisha was daughter of Thomas and married COOK. Now informed that she is of a different line -- she was the wife of John G. Carpenter and moved later to another ALA county. 1. I had noted Samuel "Tanner Sam" CARPENTER b. 1815 and lived in Randolph Co. ALA wa

<< I thought the money in the New England Colonies was same as England pound & schiling but I found this Notataion on Robert coles where he is fined 5 marks for drunk & disorderly >> The English/colonial mark was never issued as a coin. It was simply a "money of account" (like the mill [1/10 of a cent]) equal to 2/3 of a pound (13s. 4d.). The noble, another money of account, equaled 1/3 of a pound (6s. 8d.). << Payroll for Capt. 12. RE: [CARPENTER] Re: album [1]
I am looking for some long lost Carpenter relatives from Nebraska (probably along the Platte). The reason that I know some still live, or at least lived in Nebraska in the early 1980's is that my dad was standing in front of the Johnson Space Center in Texas. (He was from Ruthven, Palo Alto County, Iowa.) A gentleman approached him and asked him if he was a Carpenter and from Nebraska. Dad said yes, he was a Carpenter, but from Iowa. The other guy said that the town he lived in Nebraska has a lot

22. [CARPENTER] Re: Comfort Carpenter b 1763 [1]
Thank you to Jack Frosty! I appreciate the names and dates. I have found my fellow Carpenter researchers to be the most generously sharing surname group around! That is not just a hollow compliment, it comes from the bottom of my heart. I am so grateful to this group. It was another researcher, Penny Carpenter, who found a key bit of information that she shared with me that allowed me to connect my Amos Franklin Carpenter to the rest of his family. Without the church records that she so kindly shared

25. [CARPENTER] Cousin Byron [1]
My Dad's cousin (my first cousin once removed) Byron Carpenter, went to the Lord Friday evening 8 Mar 2002 in Washington, Mo. He was 103 years old and still mentally sharp. He entered a nursing home last year as he was getting a little weak but was enjoying good health. Byron carried on the Carpenter sense of humor and I had a number of good visits with him and was so pleased to get to know him. He always insisted on getting dressed up for company at the h
