I've been fixing my web page a bit and have added some more pictures.
Some are of Mary Ellen Carrier and her husband Frank Morris of the Anson
Carrier branch sent to me by Lelah Achey.
Others are some I took in Salem Mass. in 1997 on a short vacation trip there.
Stop in and check it out.

I just discovered something interesting about the name search on this web site.
Maybe others are aware of it but I haven't seen it mentioned.
If you put in a name say "Thomas Carrier" for all years all places you get quite a
few hits.
But the interesting thing is, if you put in the same name and restrict the years like
1626 plus or minus 5 years you get a lot more that don't show up on the first
search, and a ton of them born in Wales.
If anyone trys this and has the same results please post it to the

I don't know what programs the list members use to maintain their family trees.
I started using Family Tree Maker (version 3.sumpin) several years ago but
gradually grew dissatisfied with it.
After joining the local genealogy club (The Mohawk Valley Genealogy Club) which
was somehow associated with Parsons Family Origins and receiving a free copy
of Family origins 6.x, I have been a strong fan of that program ever since.
I now have version 8.03 to maintain my data base, export a gedcom to PAF the

Hello, everyone,
I am a new subscriber. I just read the archives and found a few people
researching French Canadian Carriers.
My ggggrandmother was Marguerite Carrier or Carriere or Cordier dit
Belhumeur, b 1817 in Terrebone, Quebec, to Pierre and Marguerite Vaudry.
Marguerite married Georges Malboeuf dit Beausoleil in 1838. Sometime after
1840 they emigrated to Black Brook, Clinton County, New York.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who recognizes these names.

Neal,
I don't find it to be true of Thomas Carrier or of any other name I
searched that you get more hits with a restricted time range than with
no time range. 15 hits for the restricted birth range vs 50+ for the
unrestricted for Thomas. However, you can get more hits if you do not
specify the event (birth) to go with the time range. That way you are
getting births, deaths and marriages in the specified time range.
Thanks for all your input into this website, I, like many others, don't
