Hello! I'm brand new to this list and am wondering if someone might be
able to help me. I found my immigrant ancestor in Jim Faulkinburg's
on-line index to naturalized voters in the 1872 Great Register. I
subsequently sent for and received the full index listing from Mr.
Faulkinburg. My immigrant ancestor, Murdock McIVER, record #37863, age 33
(in 1872), nativity Scotland, had been naturalized 5 Oct 1868 in the San

These pages are from the NEW SAN FRANCISCO MAGAZINE of May, 1906.
Very unusual photographs and text, including Gen. Funston on shooting
looters and Stanford President Jordan on the future of San Francisco.
The magazine had high ideals on the future of San Francisco, but didn't
last very long.

Hi list,
It was recently posted to the list that a nice lady named Catlyn Gregory
was available to help with lookups at the SF Main Library (as was listed
on the CA Helplist).
Well, Catlyn is *still* a very nice lady :-), but unfortunately, she's
not able to help with lookups at this time. The webmaster of the CA
Helplist is apparently still behind on updating/maintaining that page,
so Catlyn has asked me to post a message here to the CASANFRA list,
expressing her regret that she isn't able to help with

I'm not sure where you live, but the Oakland Public Main Library has a
collection dating back to the 1870's, I think. There are gaps in the
collection.
