Would it be possible to get a lookup on the 1880 census for my GM,Margartha Specht. She was on the 1860 census as Margt. Specht. I believe the 1880 census is the first census to show the year they came to the USA ,and that is the information I am looking for.
My thanks in advance

There is almost certainly no connection between St.
Mary Star of the Sea parish in Gualala,
Mendocino(http://www.mcn.org/1/aloysius/MARYSTAR.HTML)
and in San Francisco
(http://www.sfarchdiocese.org/parishes/starofthesea.html),
apart from their both being Roman Catholic. It is a
popular parish name in coastal towns and you can find
Star of the Sea RC churches in Sausalito, Alviso, San
Pedro, and elsewhere.

Hi there
I am looking for information on JAMES ARTHUR NELSON III, born about 1945 in
California. He lived in REDWOOD CITY at the time of his father's death in
1976 (see obituary below) If memory serves me correct he grew up with his
parents James and Iris in Hillsboro, just outside San Fransisco. His
grandmother FLORENCE (MCANNELL) NELSON was sister to my grandmother ELLEN
ANN (MCCANNELL) DAVIS. His father and my father Cyril Malcolm were first
cousins and friends. The Nelson family often came to Vancouver,
Thanks to all who looked for my late uncle Ignatius A. Kerr. I now know his
middle name - Aloysious! I was amazed to find out from someone on this list
that the CD available at http://www.wrindex.com CD has him listed more than
once from old records belonging to Saint Patrick's Church (i.e. confirmation
date).
I was told by St. Patrick's Church a couple of years ago that there were no
records left that had survived the 1906 earthquake ... end of story!
The CD also contains some very old records (so
San Francisco is both a city and a county with the same boundaries and
local government.

This school was instituted on the plan of the Boston Latin School, June

Hello list,
A real nice person on this list found my KERR family in the 1900 census.
I've been looking for any records availble trying to find out more about my
great granduncle, "Ignatius A. Kerr". He was married to Martha Frances
Banachowshi when he died at the age of 47 on November 11, 1932. The 1900
census record finally gave his correct age. He was born on August 1, 1885
in San Francisco.
I found Ignatius Kerr twice in old directories. He was listed twice in
1917, apparently trying to adve
