This is an extraction of names from the early San
Francisco Newspapers copies I have. It is not a
complete listing but will present many of the Vital
Notices in an abbreviated form with enough information
for an individual to locate the complete notice if
desired. Some of the copies are blurry, so a date
that can be interpreted differently will be noted in (

Greetings:
Recent news has been noted regarding the El Monte Cemetery, also known as
the Savannah Pioneer Cemetery and Savannah Memorial Park, in the City of
Rosemead, Los Angeles County.
The El Monte Cemetery Association is apparently experiencing financial
difficulty and is contemplating selling the cemetery to developers. If this
were to occur, it has been stated that the 3,000 graves in the cemetery will
have to be disinterred and relocated elsewhere.
If you have family ancestors or loved ones who w

From the San Francisco Examiner, on Aug 28, 1929.
She cross over San Francisco, at 6:25 p.m. on Aug 25, 1929 on her way to Los Angeles, going down the coast, where she docked at 5 a.m., Aug 26, 1929. It left Los Angeles, at 12:16 a.m. on Aug 27, on it is way to New Jersey, going across the southern part of California. So do not know of a trip over the Central Valley.

I am doing transcriptions for the TAG project and we are working on
Trinity Church in San Jose. One person's name is Euthanasia Constance
Rossich. Euthanasia? Doesn't that seem like an odd name for a child? I
also have None Redcliff (maybe they couldn't think of a name?) And kind
of a nice last name, (Mrs.) Sevenoaks. It's a fun project, if you have a
little time, they can always use more volunteers!

This is an extraction of names from various articles

the complete article and names mentioned more than
once in an article are not repeated. Also, this is
not meant to be an every name index as I am

Would bet that this was for members of the N.S.G.W. that they were to be at the funeral, or they would be fined.

Thank you for the information about Lowell HS. It got me thinking about
my
Great-grandmother, who grew in SF and graduated from UC Berkeley, where she
would have gone to HS in the City. She was born in 1862. I am not sure what
age she would have been when she entered HS, but assuming she was 14 it would
have been 1876. Any ideas of high schools I could check?

My grandfather was in the Army in 1918 during WWI. He was living in New York
and got stationed in California. Is there anyway I can find out whether he
joined or whether he was drafted? Was there a draft for World War I or was it
an all volunteer army? Thanks for your help. Is Letterman Hospital at the

Hi Melody,
I wish I could say"yes, yes, we are related" but the sad fact is that I do
not know very much about these Desmonds at all. I am just starting this line
of research and so far all I have is an Andrew Desmond, b: Co. Cork Ireland,
abt. 1873/4; married Mary Lyons [Lehane] from Derrynasaggert, Co. Cork, in
Dedham, MA.
I cannot find his arrival on the Ellis Is site nor can I find any siblings
of his so have to check out the west coast area as well. His parents were
Daniel Desmond and Bridget Healy.
