I am looking for information on a Hazel Ruth Moore Neiland. She had a son Patrick. They lived in San Francisco in the early 1930-1940's. She was supposedly a City Librarian there. I would like to find out if she was a city librarian and when. Thanks for your help.

Hello Everyone,
Sorry to send a generic message like this, but we've had a ton of
e-mails during the last few days, and it would take too long to try to
answer everyone separately.
Here's what's been happening:
1. The CAGenWeb Project had a problem with it's server late last week,
and it ended up having to move to another provider. Many CAGenWeb
sites, including San Francisco, we not accessible during that time.
However, The CAGenWeb Project site is back up now:

Pam,
I don't recall seeing any specific index for these newspapers. References
to them might be included in the California Information File. But, you
should definitely ask at the History Center.

Hi everyone,
Regarding all of the "Roll Call" messages today, I have a suggestion.
When you post your surnames of interest, change the subject line of your
message to show the surname(s) you're researching, and put the surnames
in ALL CAPS.
This may prove more helpful to you than posting a message in which the
subject only says "Roll Call".
Here's why: Some folks are on quite a few mailings lists besides
CASANFRA, and they see so many 'roll calls', they simply delete "Roll
Call" without ever reading th
If anyone has access to an 1860 Census index I would appreciate a lookup for Margaret (Elizabeth) Bagley. She would be about 15 years old born in Ireland. Any information on this would be appreciated.

The other day, someone asked me about women being listed in the Great
Registers (voting lists). I knew that women were given the right in 1920 on
a national level. But, I didn't know they actually were given the right to
vote in California earlier than that - in 1911.
So, you will find women listed starting in the 1912 Great Registers. I
noticed that ages were also listed for some individuals! So, here's another
possible piece of the puzzle.
If you are interested in the history behind this, take a lo
Hi Delbert and all,
Delbert and I have been doing some checking at Holy Cross cemetery in regards to our separate families (Holliday and O'Brien).
The following information may be useful in pointing folks in a new direction for research.
Delbert has been doing research on his Holliday line and found his grandfather (William Holliday) buried at Holy Cross (Section L).
I had put some names up on the SF list of four individuals who are buried in my family plot (Section K) who were transferred from Calvary
I just found some a couple new names to research. I'd like to put them out

the San Francisco Call. I also found Archie listed in the 1920 Census in

Any help would be appreciated. I can't wait to put together the pieces of

Regarding the 3 Jewish Newspapers at the Public Library, is there an index
