"Divorces" for the year 1883 in the transcription that
follows, is taken from the San Francisco Examiner,
published January 1, 1884, page 7. It lists the
divorces that occurred during the preceding year in
San Francisco.
Every effort has been made to ensure accuracy,
although I am working from small print and in some
cases smudges create several possibilities. I have
noted these as I came to them, but if any questions
arise, consult the source if possible. Names are

Hello,
Hope all are having a terrific Thanksgiving.
I am seeking death and burial info on the following sisters:

Their father, John Theisen, purchased a cemetery plot at the El Dorado Cemetery in the town of El Dorado (Mud Springs) in El Dorado County. While he and his wife weren't buried in the plot, there are two old metal temporary markers with no information left on them. I believe the sis

My Grandfather received Christian Baptism at an Evangalistic Lutheran
Church in San Francisco in 1886. I am trying to find out what the exact
name and location of this Church was. I assume that it was lost in the
big earthquake in 1906. His parents were Danish so I assume many Danish
folks would have attended this church.
Thanks, Don
For anyone who may have family buried in this cemetery, here is the burial

That was interesting Linda with the era clothing and
style. I was told once that it used to take several
minutes to just take one of those pictures and they
probably got bored standing there. What I thought was
a story to be told was the fact that one boy had a
bloody nose and one had a black eye and another had
two black eyes. I wondered if the one with the two
black eyes could be an ethnic of european descent

Anyone know anything about this church?
Also, my great grandfather was an bottler in a liquor

Probably a silly request since SF during that time was

know any names of possible liquor manufacturer's

Just passing on some information about a new list at that may help
someone in their research.
The ORPHAN-TRAINS Discussion List is for the discussion of the ORPHAN
TRAINS that carried thousands of children to new homes in any and all
states and anything pertaining to them covering the time periods of
1850's to 1930. Discussions pertaining to anything related to these
children, circumstances, finding their families, history of these
trains, etc. are encouraged.

I work at a school and this website(below) was passed out. I just tried it
and it compares my age to others, but also tells how old I was when different
historical-current events happened.
