There is a very brave man buried in San Francisco County. The VMI Corps of Cadets fought as a unit at the Battle of New Market, Virginia, on May 15, 1864. Two hundred fifty seven cadets were on the field. Ten cadets were killed in battle or died later from the effects of their wounds; 45 were wounded. The youngest participating cadet was fifteen; the oldest twenty-five.
Could someone in San Francisco County please photograph the tombstone of:

I have a photograph of my grandfather & friends that is mounted on both a
postcard and a small oval pocket mirror. The postcard is printed by a

the photo, all of the men are laying on the sand and wearing tank tops that
are printed with the words "Sunny Cove" across the chest.

Dear Listers--
Jennifer McCann did a beautiful job in her comprehensive report on the
cemetery at the old Marine Hospital. She regularly spent time at California
Genealogical Society with us, going through films of the surviving San
Francisco death records, and also at San Francisco Public Library poring over
the early funeral home records that recently were transferred there by
Halsted-N Gray-Carew and English Funeral Home. She sent us (CGS) a copy and, I

I've been asked about the last two functional Gas Street Lamps in San
Francisco - located on Scott Street between Bush and Pine Streets. Per
the description offered, there is a plaque on the front of the house
commemorating these Gas Street Lamps. On the ground next to these Gas
Street Lamps is a cover plate that can be lifted revealing the valve
that supplies the gas to these lamps. The cover around the flame (when
lit) was made of plastic instead of glass and warped from the heat. One
is missing.
Hi Pam,
I know you haven't heard from me in a while but I have been receiving all your interesting mail.
I have recently posted a query on the Sonoma Co mailing list and received stupendous assistance from one Jocelynn Knight. She managed to come up with at least four pieces to my family puzzle.
I will have several items to add to the O'Brien list of deaths, etc shortly.

Good evening listers.
I finally got around to opening my Washington Post front section, and
there was a full page ad from Ancestry.com. Talks about our
ancestors, etc. AND says that from now until November 30th,

Have fun....
