Hi Alice, I can take a look at the Calif. Death Index to find Chester's exact date of death - it would make easier for someone to search for an obit for you. The Tracy paper is at the Tracy Public Library but it's possible that his obit appeared in the Stockton Record. Carolyn Escalon's history dates back to 1852, when the area recorded its first homesteader, John Wheeler Jones. The community obtained its name form Jones' son, James.
