Sometime ago I wrote to CASANJOA-Lfor some information on a Theadore
Weichman who was suppose to have died in Stockton California in the year of
1894.
I have never heard back and wonder why? I know there are many cemeteries
(As I was told by the City Hall) that began or was in business in 1894 for I
can not just call a cemetery to see if Theadore and possibly a wife or two
is buried there.
If I can get a little help it would be appreciated.
Sincerely Raymond E.
Aloha,
Can someone please help me find a record on the death of John C Rice. He is
reported to have died 19 Dec 1903 in Stockton, Ca. Looking for family
connections that may be listed on dc or obit.
Thanks,
Mike

If you haven't heard, there's a new website for searching CADI 1940-97 and
CABI 1905-1995 on line
http://userdb.rootsweb.com/
it's a new test site and it appears that the county location might be
missing on some death listings but you can have that information verified by
a number of volunteers on the CA-DEATH-INDEX-L list

If you would like the name of a volunteer that could help you with an
obituary please contact me.
The location of death listed above is the COUNTY of death. To determine the
CITY of death you will need to order the death certificate or find a
volunteer to transcribe the information at the county recorder's office.
Here's the info site for CA vital records: http://vitalrec.
Glad you received some help Raymond.....that's what the list is supposed to
be all about.....
Maybe the person responding could post to the list next time also rather
than just privately to you and if the data is found maybe they could share
the data with the list also so anyone searching the archives could find it
in the future.....
Anyone interested in searching the archives?
here's the URL

Jackie,
Have to remove your post - it belongs on the query page :>)
...when you get the obit you're welcome to post it....I take you have the
death certificate if you know where he's buried so it doesn't have to be
verified from CADI?
Here's a volunteer in Manteca that can take a look at the library there for
an obit - was his last usual address Manteca or Richmond?

You didn't mention where your Leatons came from.
I did a search of the CA Death Index 1940-59 for your names and did not find
a William or Joseph. Maybe these are spouses?
