1. [CASBENIT] obit lookups [1]
My first time to this list, and with a request. Recently discovered relatives in San Benito Co., and would love to obtain copies or transcripts or info on how to get obits for a mother & daughter. Would greatly appreciate any help. 1) Kate (Kathryn) Crabby died April 14 (?), 1929, probably in or near Hollister. 2) Rosa/Rose Stover died May 17, 1939, again, in or near Hollister. Thanks. Libby

4. Re: [CASBENIT] obit lookups [1]
Hi Libby, I do lookups for San Benito Co. Unfortunately, obits for the time period you are looking for are next to impossible to get, due to the newspapers not being available on film & the old books being so hard to get to, damaged & fragile. I will see what I can do -- would you like me to get death certificate transcriptions? I can still do that until the new law goes into effect on July 1. Dee, I would deeply appreciate anything you can find! Just last week I sent for a copy of Kate Crabby's death certificate, so hopefully that will be here soon. If you have the time, and it's not too much trouble, yes, I'd love to receive the info from Rose Stover's death certificate. If you can find an obit for her, tho, please don't go to any extra trouble. I hope you don't mind me asking this, but if you are familiar with the area, what is Hollister like? I recently discovered that most of my husban

Thank you very much for the IOOF listing. I am related to Rosel "Fitch" Evans. He is buried there. I have been to seen his imediate family graves. I know there are other family members buried in the same plot, but that does not show on your list. Do you have that information? or know how I can get it? I would to se actual cemetary records for those folks, but I don't know who to ask about that. I am a direct descendant of Fitch's brother Dudley. Martin Indreboe ----- Original Message ----- From:

I have asked for this before but will request again. If anyone doing cemetery research comes across a burial place for my ggg grandfather above I would be grateful to hear from them. He died somewhere "near Hollister" in October 1877 and appears to be listed in the 1875 Hollister directory. His daughter Martha Jane was married to Benjamin F. Ingels who also lived in and around Hollister from 1870 to the 1890's. Thanks, Karen

Sue, I do the same thing. I am researching for five people now for no pay. It is my joy. But I understand you family and for the price you are charging sounds like another giveaway. People don't understand the time and effort. I now save all my work on flash drives. On the first of each month I go in and re-save them even if I dint work on them that month, maybe paranoid, but I have had a computer crash before. Thank you.
