Dee,
I've just returned from the CA state library in Sacramento. Checked the 28 Nov 1890 Hollister Free Lance--read through three times--and could not find the Wm H. Jones obituary.
The run of the San Benito Advance there begins with 1894--four years too late.
Did you go to the state library to do the transcript

Btw, I forgot to respond. The White family belongs to a James Madison Jones, I believe, who lived in Hollister.

I just want to clarify, the paper you transcribed is the San Benito Advance?
I have checked the Hollister Free Lance, but may have missed it.
