My daughter who has been walking cemeteries for me, got a new camera so she
decided I needed to walk the cemetery for myself. so she has been bringing
me pictures and I am transcribing them. I am keeping a list of the ones I
have. I will post the names I have. could be different cemeteries in

11th Ed Tyrell, an undertaker's assistant, was arrested after H.R. Bemis
complained that Tyrell was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk. Tyrell paid a
$10 fine and was released.

Shasta County Hospitals
Coram Hospital no extra info

1st County Hospital built 1855 NW of Shasta at approximatly where the
cross of 299W and Rock Creek Rd. First hospital Dr. James Pelham for $50 a
month. Enlarged in 1859 to accommodate women patients. enlarged again in
1868 and again in 1888 and 1891. Closed in 1900.
Moved to South Redding and reopened 1902 renamed Shasta General Hospital in
1934. closed

Today is Monday, May 21, 2001. On this date:
21st a parade marched around downtown to Wildwood Park as a part of May
celebrations. At the park, Miss Mary Schafter was crowned May Queen.
22nd a Weaverville livery man fell ill with smallpox. The disease was not
diagnosed until after a few days of symptoms. Many people were exposed,
and they were urged to seek immediate medical attention.
