FINE CAMPING PLACE
Mrs. Anna Cressler has donated the use of the Park here for campers
during the Fair, and a day will be set, about the 1st of September, for
cleaning it up and putting it in shape, and water will be furnished from
Walter Johnstones water system. This is one of the prettiest places in
the county, and to those desiring to camp out, it will be a rare treat
and they cannot help but enjoy the outing.

There are only three places where the climate is perfect - Heaven, this
county and a real estate office.
We are informed that Mrs. Lee Murphy, of Eagleville, is quite ill and was
taken to San Francisco last week for medical treatment.
Miss Eunice Watson was operated on here last Monday for appendicitis and we
understand she is getting along nicely.
Miss Bess Benner, sister of John Benner and niece of D. J. Benner of this
place, is here from Washington visiting relatives.

Mrs. Lynn Chandler and little son arrived here recently from Denver,

SAD HOME COMING
Mrs. L. L. Turner returned last week from Seattle where she was called
by the illness and death of her mother. Mrs. Turner left her to attend
the Grand Chapter of O.E.S., which convened at Santa Cruz on Oct. 18th,
and on her arrival at San Francisco, enroute to Santa Cruz, she received
a wire conveying the news that her mother was critically ill, and she

He was accompanied by Loyd Coates, who is returning to the University,

SIXTIETH ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Peterson were the guests of honor at an informal
reception this afternoon, when their daughters, Mrs. E. P. Lowell and
Mrs. D. P. Browne entertained in honor of their sixtieth Anniversary.

DEATH OF HERMAN STREET
Died - In Reno, Nev., Dec. 26, 1918, Herman Albert Street, beloved son of
Mrs. Allie Benner and brother of Eva Street, aged 27 years and 16 days.
His funeral was held from the M. E. Church here last Sunday at 2 p.m., the
services being conducted by Rev. H. D. Harkins, and the remains were laid to
rest in the Cedarville cemetery. As reported in last weeks Record, he was

Last Thursday and Friday this section of the country was visited by one
of the hardest windstorms ever experienced here even by the oldest

DEATH OF DERRY T. ROBINSON
Derry Thurman Robinson was born in Clifton, South Carolina, in September
19, 1890. At the age of eighteen, he entered the army and served his
country as a soldier for eleven years. When the war with Germany was
declared he was about to receive his discharge. Realizing his value to
his country as a soldier, he immediately re-enlisted and was stationed at
Fort Scott, San Francisco. On October

John Williams of Madeline, was held up and robbed of fifty dollars about
one oclock last Sunday morning at Alturas. He was on his way from the

CASE SETTLED
With the payment to her, of her salary the Overton School muddle has
been settled with the teacher, Miss Jessie Reynolds, exonerated and her
position sustained by the Court. It seems that the Trustees for some
reason took a notion that they did not wasnt Miss Reynolds to teach, so
they locked the schoolhouse door on her, but she persisted in appearing
at the school each morning for work and later on she was al
