that matched yours.

I, too, am glad that the Sonoma County list was started.
My families came to Sonoma County middle and late l800s. My paternal

Hi Linda,
No Taylor, Dean, Harford or Perine. A couple of Hansens, but probably not
yours--Peter Hansen and Alvin Hansen. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
Two Rock is a small rural community.
Aren't you lucky to live in Marin and work in Sonoma? At least you are
going in the opposite direction of most of the commute traffic.
Happy hunting and happy holidays!

You might want to check with the Internet Branch of the Sonoma County

Hi Marilyn,
Thanks for checking on Edith LOWREY, but I'm very embarrassed to admit
that I sometimes get 2 women mixed up - Edith and Elvira - as I did in
this case. Would you mind checking again for ELVIRA LOWREY, d. 1898 who
was the wife of the William Lowrey, d. 1898, about whom you did send the
death info.
That was also interesting about William: previously I had been told by
another Lowrey research that he died in Santa Rosa (city), but the
official record quoted by you is Vallejo Twp. My towns
I did not find Edith but I did find a death for William Lowery, age 72
died Aug 21, 1898. This isn't the exactly the spelling but close enough I
wanted to give it to you. My book says he was born in Indiana, had a
brother named Jacob and died in Vallejo Township. I checked for several
years before and after 1898 but could not come up with anything else.

Good to see this list up & running & also that some of my previous
NORCAL contacts are here as well.
Can I record my interest in William D Jones born 1825 died Petaluma 1898
& descendant families of Chambers,Bollinger,Brown & Mulvey.
In particular a number of present day members of the Bollinger family
work in various capacities for the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.
Anyone know of them?
Best wishes to the List from Wales.

Can anyone tell me if the Press Democrat was printed as far back as 1856?
If so, would appreciate it if someone could find an obit for a SAMUEL HAND,

I also understand that there is a SAM HAND PASS between Sonoma and Lake

the naming of this pass?
Thanks in advance.

I thought I'd introduce myself since I recently decided to establish
this list. My name is Edward A. Black, Sr. and I established this list
for those who desire to contact others who have like desires in locating
family members, taking part in discussions or doing other genealogical
research in Sonoma County, California.
My interest in Sonoma Co., CA comes because my wife has an aunt and
cousins who
lived in Rhonert Park and other cousins and family who lived & are

Hi Everyone, and thank you Ed for starting this list!
My name is Alice Mitchell. We're retired and now live in NW Washington State,
but I was born and raised in Richmond, CA, and have many childhood memories
about Marin, Sonoma, and Mendocino counties. This introductory post is rather
long, but I wanted to let you know why I joined the list and what I'm seeking,
then I'll go back in my den!
My focus in Sonoma County is the WALL Family. A 3GGF, Thomas Henry WALL,
crossed the plains in 1852, settled first i
Carmen,
I have been in touch with Ray in the past. He does charge a fee for a look

research. I was under the impression that this list was for volunteer, not
professional researchers and that there was a book of Wills that you had
which was readily available for volunteer lookups. Perhaps I misunderstood.
I will be in Petaluma late in Jan. and early in Feb. Maybe I'll be there at
the right time to attend the Feb. monthly meeting of SC

Would like to make contact with anyone researching the PINER family of

Edward,
Do we call you "List Dad"? Glad to see we are getting Sonoma County folks
