1. Re: CCGS meeting [1]
Hi folks, While 90% of those subscribed to CATAWBA-WEST live in excess of 100 miles from Catawba County, there are about 50 or so that live closer than 50 miles. Since I am giving a talk on Internet genealogy, I thought it would be interesting to see how many non-members of the CCGS would attend if the only notice of the meeting they received was from the mail list. This post may explain my motives to those who have written wondering why the announcement was made to folks across the country. Several folks
2. Adam Cloninger and John Seitz/Sides [1]
I have learned a very important lesson. I referred to a page in "German Speaking People West of the Catawba". I made an error when I did not give the page number as 111. This page deals with Adam Cloninger's family and shows that Adams Oldest Daughter married John Seitz. I gave no thought that someone might refer to the information on the SEITZ FAMILY on page 379. I find the information about the Deitz family very interesting in that the land for this family of George is in the general area w

7. Warlick Township. [1]
William, A couple suggestions and Guesses. Originally the Warlicks settled the area north west of the town of Lincolnton. This was the Daniels Church area and also the Reepsville area. The Warlicks had large land holdings in this vicinity. When using the census records you can usually find an attached map showing where the areas are located. I have had cause to work extensively with census records. Let me know if can be of further assistance. My fourth grade teacher was Miss Warlick who lived

16. Campbell's Cemetery [1]
I have been trying to locate the graves of ALFRED MARTIN and CATHARINE BUMGARNER, as well as ALEXANDER BUMGARNER and EMMA ANDREWS without success. However, I believe I know where they are buried. As far as I can determine they lived their entire lives in the area just east of Maiden. A DANIEL CAMPBELL signed the marriage bond with ALFRED, so the Martins and Campbells knew each other. The Bumgarners and the Martins knew each other too since they lived in this same area (1850 Census). HENRY THORNTON MART

In regard to the following message reply: It can sometimes be misleading to presume "son-in-law" means daughters husband - he could also have been a child of a man's wife by a previous marriage.
