Excellent work again, Will. No one (so far) has claimed the John Wright in the Indian Brigade or the Rev. Wright who was at the Pea Ridge Battle.
There were several Thomas Wrights wandering around TX after the Civil War including north TX. (Still think our line is related to the MO and Indiana Wrights in north TX.

This is a real long shot, but has anyone heard of anyone living in Tehama County, in the Red Bluff area, with the surname MOUNT? I ran across a tantalizing tidbit while doing a Google search for one of my husband's ancestors that said there was a Mr. Mount who married a

Although I don't know why James went to Tehama while Edith went to Trinity county. That seems a little odd. Of the probated land, I only found a handful that they had owed as direct grants, the rest he must have purchased at various times. When he died, Malinda was said to be already "ill" and so I don't think she

Excellent work, Will. Glad to hear that land belonged to the Wrights from James and Malinda. Sounds like James could have traveled with the Duncan wagontrain.
Wish more of our Wrights were confirmed in 1860 CA. Did you find any land in John or T.J.'s names? Were John and William Martin orginally partners?

Good, while you're doing that, I'm on the trail of Edith Wright Duncan Martin in 1870. She is NOT in Tehama county, I read the whole thing. Now I'm reading the entire Trinity county. I found Caleb Duncan and one of his sisters and updated my database with their details. Haven't found her yet.
