Hello veterans and newbies of the rootsweb. There are some really great folks who are willing to help just for the asking. I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in Andersonville Georgia. I know that California was not closely involved in the war here on the East coast, but I do know that many soldiers and families went West following the conflict including a few of my ancestors..
